Well i live in Britain ad i'm 14 but i currently do pure A-Level maths work which is what 16 - 18 year olds do. I'm new here to and i haven't seen any of the problems on here but i suspect that they're hard.
Engineering is not what i would want to do but it sounds good :)
I've done A level also
Well i'm not actually in sixth form doing it because i've only just turned 14 but i have a knowledge and grasp of A-Level subjects.
Must be degree level here at least.
I've checked my units and none of them can match this level of maths we're talking here. Maybe I must wait for the engineering mathematics unit.
anyway.. what do you intend to sduty next?
Well I'm at high school and i'm doing my GCSEs in just under 2 years time and I have to carry on: Maths, English, Science(Triple Award), IT and RE but I'm also doing: Law, Statistics, Geography and German. For A-Level i want to do maths and maybe Law
Pure maths A Level? And your 14? Wow.....
^hehe
I went through a stressful time and i saw maths as a good coping point and so i worked really hard.
If you can do maths like that at your age then you should definately think about a career in maths. There is no reason why you wont continue to be as brilliant in the future. Who knows? One day you might be able to cure cancer with a mathematical equation or something?
^Why thank you. I really want to do something to do with maths in the future.
14, and doing A-Level impressive. I wish I had a copy of the core 4 paper I took there are a few nifty questions in there :). The question they asked which wasn't even in that unit was below the belt.
I just finished my first year in undergraduate college this last semester (US). Our curriculum is a little weird, so we don't have to declare a major until sometime Sophomore year, but I'll probably be Math/CS (joint or double)Quote:

Well i think I'm at least younger than all of you... 12

Ok, I'm going to finished four years of undergraduate degree on Engineering on coming 15th August. That is four years of maths experience, specially on pure.
wow... which field did you choose?
Following Computer Engineering, and looking to be a software developer.
if you're looking forward for software developer, isn't software engineering more appropriate? lol
Ya, you are correct. But what I mean is that want to be a great person on the field, rather giving my service to another community.
Maybe you want to look at developing software that Traders use. You get a lot of money for that sort of thing.Quote:

Definitely, by the way, are you following the E-maths part id grate distance. What is the course content.
E-maths part id grate distance? What's that? I don't follow that.
As I know it is about mastering of algebra and geometry.
Oh, I see. I do follow that type but the E-maths that I am currently studying consists of a lot of other chapters, including algebta and geometry.
I believe that the algebra is the base of maths. If you know well, it is easy to work on geometry as well, because after figure out the give problem on geometry there, the way come out is algebra.
Haha I see. But sadly my algebra is not that strong. But, I will work hard. :)
Better to do that before move further. Read a book which explain the art of problem solving, like How To Solve It by George Polya, you will find a lot. That is the best book I have read so far.
I will. Thanks eranga262154. :) But my big exams are about 1 month away and school exam is next week, I doubt I have time...
No you don't, I think. Best way is just work through until the exam is finished, on your own way.
Ok, I will. Thanks again eranga262154. :)
Does anyone know what the American equivalent of a 1 at standard grade is? This is a Scottish or SQA qualification.
Moved from the Maths Forum.
That took a while... What's wrong, Marty? Woss got your finger?
*hides*
I rarely visit the Maths forum.
Some of those people lost pretty nearly their whole post count when this thread got moved.
im in Geometry :)
Watch this thread full of reasonably intelligent and aspiring people get flooded with goon's who's only goal in life is to bump pointless threads.
