And I am pretty sure Christmas is the 25th of December, Christmas Eve being the previous day.
If only I had more room in my sig....Quote:

Took care of it for you ;)
First of all December is written Desember in Norwegian, second of all, what we call christmas is 24.December. And we open up our presents that day.
Directly transelated the day before christmas is "little christmas", and the day after is first christmas day...and then second day of christmas, and so on....so now leave me alone, and cut out the sig....
Well don't call us stupid English if you're talking about your special Christmas ;)
It's not special...when did jesus get borned.....was it 25.....NOOOOO...so cut out opening the presents the wrong day...
I guess you also celebrate new years the night of Dec 30th.Quote:

What are the chances that the imaginary god-child gets born on Christmas Day, amazing??? No wonder the inn was full, it was late-night shopping in town.Quote:

The Russian Orthodox Church celebrates its Christmas on January 7th, in accordance with the old Julian calendar.

I think you should learn to speak English before you call us English morons ;)
Presents get opened from extended family members on the 24th, which we call Christmas Eve (the night that Santa comes.) On the 25th, kids open gifts that are left under the tree while they are sleeping. The 26th is when my sister yells that she isn't hosting another family get together next year. We'll see, but I'd bet that we go there again (and again.)
New Years Eve is the 31st. Same thing. We stay up all night and yell Happy New Year at midnite!
Thanksgiviing eve is the night that all college kids come in to a local restaurant for an impromptu reunion. It's getting old, some 20 years later. Our crowd is getting smaller and smaller. Wall to wall people.
hey note can i put this in my sig???Quote:

It's just an excuse to open the presents early.
and gets the kids back home to go to bed early so as not to miss Santa. (He skips your house if you're awake, don't ya know)
What is it about the day after christmas, lame presents, empty stockings, a hangover, and the sickening smell of rotting egg nog mixed with puke that makes a person want to code? :SpeculatE:
is that your alibi to your children so that they sleep early during christmas?:DQuote:

We shoudl have a thread for all these NoteMe quotes......do we already have one?
 LOL  LOL
Oh, you should be so lucky. The earlier they crash, the earlier that they get up. I got into big trouble as a kid when I woke up my brother and sister, and we went down and opened gifts without waking our parents. From then on, nobody was allowed downstairs until the parents were ready!
So, when is a good time to attempt to beat the record? Thursday is Thanksgiving. After the family meal, won't most of us in the US be back at home with nothing to do?
Out of interest? Was that 26th December record planned, because I find it hard to believe, that the day after Christmas when evertyone has a hang over, they would all suddenly want tostart programming in Visual Basic?
I guess we just wated to spread the festive spirit (All over the living room rug probably)
Pah, Christian holidays... useless to a pagan except as an excuse for serious pintage.
