Hello Vicky and Ian......how goes?
I'm fine thanks katie, had some more promising things on the job front today, so fingers crossed. :) how about you ?
30 mins until Trav's graduation. I happy and sad and all of that mom stuff right now!
Birds leaving the nest and all that ?
It just happened so fast! It's hard to believe. Ian was grown up and fought me since he was 14 years old. Travis just seems so much younger than Ian was when he graduated. It's hard to explain.
I think I'm going toleave now...no point sitting here moping! I'll see you tomorrow!
Typical, just as I arrive :p
EEy OOp all! Thought I'd start indecently early this morning....
Cheer up babe:)Quote:
*NW look around for Vickys' bf and he didn't appear in the room*
I guess it's ok to say that;)
Good morning chaps and chapesses on the this gloriously good Friday :)
Hello everyone!
the weekend is just a few hours away :D
GO ARGIES !!!
Good morning Lucy and Wally. I had two promissing phone calls from last night on the job front, so I am in a good mood. one of them was for working for the NHS, so go private before it's too late  :D ;)
good show Ian. Just what the NHS needed : another jolly ever positive site manager with fook all skills. You would've assumed that they have plenty of that already :p :D
and oh yes...
GO ARGIES !! THRASH THOSE BLOODY ARROGANT POMS !!
I think I'm gonna fit right in :D but I'm not getting voer excited as It hasn't gotten to interview stage yet :)
Blatently ignores Wally's postings about the footie :p
Good stuff about the jobs Ian :D I know someone who worked for the NHS, I didn't hear good things though :(
Actually.. she worked in Hastings too, that could be the same job
What's the other job?
:D
When will that phase start then ? Think you got a shot ?
The job is in London :) the other one is for one in basingstoke working for a large pension company.
wally, I won't know if I've got an interview untill the agent gets back (if he does) saying that I've got one.
At least you got to the interview part;)Quote:

I hope the NHS thing was as a contractor? Public Sector salaries are more bad than a deep faecal pool filled to the brim.
The public sector adverts in Computer Weekly are fun....
for example...
Essential 5yrs commercial C++, COM, JAVA, Visual Basic, Oracle, Delphi, SQL Server, Access, ADO, HTML, DHTML, XML, JavaScript, ATL, VBScript, Crystal Reports
Salary 18-22k dep on exp. (pay award pending)
is a permi job and the agent said how does 35k sound  :)
Like the bells at the end of a period : ex-cel-lent :D
Far better than the average....
FYI 35k is v.upper sen. mgmt in (un)Civil Service Speak...chances are you'll spend more time in meetings than actually doing any work...
he said the job was 50% coding, 25% project leading. 25% analysis. it sounds almost too good to be true as it's the kind of job I would like to get into to start furthering my career, I.E. not just being a grunt :)
Who? Your agent?Quote:

My motor sport agent can be full of that at times...
Sounds really great Ian! :D, you going to commute into London?
THe job, but I know full well how agents hype everything up, it's their job. but as I said, I'm not getting too excited over it becuase 9 times out of 10, I probably won't here from him again
Yeah, at first. been doing it on and off for the lst two and a half years anyway, so I'm well used to it. and if all things go well, I'll probably move up there in the future :)Quote:

Almost time to see England crash out of the world cup. Get your kleenex ready chaps !
Right! Enough of pissing on Ian's bonfire.... I going to delve into the main forums and try and help people....
Working is a big bag of arse anyway :(
Hey Wally,we are certainly shaking in our boots after the Belgians' surefooted performance against the mighty Japanese :p
The tournament wouldn't have benefitted from the collective hara kiri of the Jap squad after certain defeat so we've let them equalise.
If they eventually do commit hara kiri, we won't be responsible.
Besides, is the Man U private jet already under way ?
ROTFLMFAO :D
we've just hooked up our projector to to a video, stuck on my cambridge works speakers, and we now have big screen tele up against a wall to watch the footie in the office :D
We can't even access sports sites on our internet connection
also received this from HR yesterday:
"Just a reminder that the usual "smart casual" dress code applies for tomorrow's dress down day - and this does not include wearing football kits !!"
so, I'm wearing a dress instead - much more acceptable
Only downside is that we've currently got the parkinson interview on with posh and becks  ;)
The one where Posh [sic] gets her baps out?
What all this job business then mate? Sound sound liek you've got stuff coming your way now....
Neatly side-stepped the issue gaffs :D
Ian is advancing in the world. With any luck he'll be janitor at 40
Yeah, things are starting to look up, I'm getting about 5 phone calls a week now from varios agents, got my cv posted on jobserve, totaljobs, monster and a few others. All of them are comming back with the "Possible" roles they have for me, just nothing set in stone yet. feeling a little more optimistic now :)Quote:

Ian, hope you're right - things lok brighter economically - Japana is now oficially out of recession....
yeah, I hope so too, the agents seem a bit more upbeat as well :)
things are becomming like a laurel and hardy episode, my boss has now got a step ladder out and is trying to get good positioning on the portable Aerial to try and get the best picture :)
