So you are nearly (or are) 40 and you have a south park avatar....
You are ok in my book ;)
I'm not a teen yet...
I was born when the cowboys and indians were fighting and I program in FLOW-MATIC(Originally know as B-0). I really like my UNIVAC I.
Age: 11
Language: VB.NET
Wow, I can't believe this thread is still alive:confused:.
I was a teenaged programmer when this thread was started...
I wasnt even born when this thread was started...
I turned 17 in July. I started looking into programming when I was about mid-15.
I actually found it by searching the forums for "thread closed". You should try it sometime, you get interesting results.
I came out of the womb typing ;)
PS I was joking... I'm 21 :)
You were joking? I couldn't tell, I actually thought you were telling the truth.
He wasn't even born when I was a teenager, though.
I know many schools that they teach programming for their students
Hello, I'm 12 years old. Yeah i know that sounds very young but I've always wanted to learn everything that had to do with computers etc. When i was 9 years old i started learning batch and very very basic python and a game coding language called "SiMPLE", and from there on i wanted to make my on website, so i learned HTML and JavaScript and CSS, i then learned VBScript, and when i was 11 years old i had an interest of making a login system and then found a tutorial on youtube involving Visual basic so i went right ahead and downloaded it and learned it after a week of constantly making programs :)
Now my most preferred language is VB and it probably always will be. :)
I was a teenager when this thread was started
You know what's funny, TechKid? You dug up a thread that was started when you were a baby.
It is so weird to think that this site is now older than some of its members. I wonder if my daughter will dig this thread up in another ten years. :p
Edit: Scrolling up, I see that I made a similar comment the last time this thread was dug up. I must be really getting old...
I was 87 when this thread was started.
I'm 14 years old and I'm the computer geek of the household. I know a little PHP, some HTML, some JS, and a bit about XHTML.
Isnt there some law about having to be 13 to use internet forums because of all the creepers out there...
Found it. http://www.coppa.org/ Childrens Online Privacy Protection Act. Any website that is collecting info from children under 13 must have parental consent.
Yes i got your poke at my grammatical error.
Let me rephrase. Isn't there some law about having to be at least 13 to use internet forums?
And I'm sure we all have parental consent :)
Meh, I'm 17 and have been programming since 15. Parental consent? What's that mumbojumbo? My parental consent:
Done. :)Code:Me: Going on the Internet.
Mom: Ok
I'm 27 and thanks to Einstein I've been programming for the last 30 years.
When I started I was 16 and am 19 now. I only touched vb once or twice a month. But over the last year I've been programming a bit more due to university. VB still remains a hobby, but I have moved onto VB.NET. I am hoping to end up as a programmer in .NET and java.
Heh, '97? '93 for me. Shoot, I think my dad was first introducing me to PC's when this thread was started, and here you all were, as if nothing has happened.
Me too! I had no idea how old this thread was... VBForums has been around for quite a long time, hasn't it?Quote:
I was born in 1997
I'm somewhere between the age of 1 and 1 million but am closer to 1 million.
You're either older than 500,000 or you're mentioning that you're older than 1 and can't get younger... In either event, me too. I was born in the early 80's
Code:Private _Age As Integer = 17I
Public Property Age As Integer
Get
Return _Age
End Get
Set(ByVal value As Integer)
_Age = 17I
End Set
End Property
I wrote my first program at the age of 7 in BASIC. It asked a series of questions liek "What is your name?", "What is your age?", then used PRINT to print the details on the screen and LPRINT to send them to the old dot matrix.
I think that BASIC was modula back then. You had to number all lines, usually in increments of 10 and every time you needed to edit a line you had to use the EDIT command along with the line number. The code was executed in order of line number, so if you needed to insert a line after no 10 you would use line 15.
I'm 20 now. Started with BASIC(at school). Used VB6 for a long time. Now migrated to .Net ;)
This is a really old thread. Dates back to 1999.
Looks like I just tripped over this thread again - someone should really bring it out to pasture and shoot it.
i'm 17, i've been programming java, vb6, html and php since i was 9 years old :D
and yes i do make money for making websites
I'm 16 (17 in a few months)..But I was barely 5 when this thread was created. I am sure this is the oldest going thread on the net that still is getting randomly added to?
P.S. How did I get here from searching XML to HTML conversions?? o.O
I'm 15 turning 16 next week and I joined VBForums at the beginning of this year and I can happily say that I have increased my Programming knowledge 100 fold since I started. Until now I was not able to create programs for money because I lacked Knowledge and experience. I'm now developing an app that can bring in 10K USD for me And I know this is a fact., But I have decided to make the app opensource Instead. (I'm undercutting the opposition by Infinity you see.)
It's for very specific needs. About 6-12 people will use it in my country of 60 000 000 people. I doubt that I will put on the Internet. (and software prices here are very expensive . My program isn't all that complicated)
You can. It's just not finished yet :P
If my parents had their way, I wouldn't be using the Internet. I don't have their consent and probably couldn't get it.
It's therefore, a good thing that I'm 33 and live on my own. Of course, my daughter is starting to use the Internet. But she has my consent. And a net-nanny. =)
Just think.. all those people who replied to this post originally are no longer teenagers...................Depressing, isnt it.
