Yep
We are immoral!

we be immortal
kickin ya into an interdimensional portal
lords aint no more born into
the houses and seats
benches of red
i set it off for my people
beat you upside the head with lead from my desert eagle
That is a great example of why I think rap can't be categorized as music. It's just a vindictive diatribe meant to cause emotional distress set to the same back beat as every other diatribe.
Since that blew up in my face I think I will :)
no its not
dont take as the popular stuff you hear like dre and eminem, coz their songs are party records
of course its music, these people havnt had great lovley suburban lives 90% of black rappers live in the gutter and cant get an education or they get held down coz of they r coloured, so they turn 2 poetry
have u listened 2 much rap, if u had listened 2 more than the surface, you would know that its about storytelling, for example, "satisfy you" is a love song "a moment for your son" is a tribute to god, and while im not a christian, that song is amazing (by dmx) the message is a tribiute 2 dre's dead brother
just coz the media populates rap as is women in thongs and drugs and violence, its not
if you listened 2 more than just the stuff they put in the charts you would realised the depth and beauty of hip hop and poetry
sorry if i got a bit defensive, its just that i cant stand it when people insult hip hop as a bunch of (black) people shoutin and swearing and grabbin their crotches. its much more than that
music must be something subjective, something that you like to listen to must be music to you :)
evening all :)
This is a bunch of baloney. Most of the successful rappers have come from a middle class environment but play to the audience as poor downtrodden criminals to enhance their image.Quote:

I did not make any statements or even suggest that rap has anything to do with blacks or grabbin crotches. Don't assume that I am prejudice. I do take offense to that.Quote:

The rap that is played on the radio and mtv is filled with violence toward each other, hatred towards each other or demeaning each other. It is not my cup of tea. It does not mean that I am racist. It means I don't think it is an art form. PERIOD
I am entitled to my opinion. If it doesn't gel with yours so be it. That does not mean that it doesn't gel because of a race issue.
Nice to see you Sir, Ian! *smooch*Quote:

Don't be afraid, Ian. I was just making a point. I don't think that it's fair to play the race or anti-religion card everytime you get a differing opinion and it seems to be happening a lot lately!
So how's me boy this evening?
very tired, but i've had a couple of beers down me (must remember how put a glass to my mouth ;)) so I am in quite a happy Mood :). I'm off to do my usual one day christmas shopping tommorow :)
You get all your shopping done in one day?!?!?! That's amazing!
yep. I already got a list of pretty much what I'm going to get every body and I just go out to a big shopping centre, get the list and browse for the little things that catch my eye for everyone :)
*hint* I have my eye on a green lace teddy at Vic's if you're buying for me!*hint*
Jewelry is always welcome as well.;)
money money money...
Jewelry and a teady bear ?????? you don't know how good you got it. in my day we woke up on christmas morning, went running down stairs only to be greeted by a kick in the nads by father. the we were sent down tut pit for the day to pay off the half a rat we got for a christmas meal and then spent the evening all round a single candle whilst being beaten by a large haddock. pfff people have it so easy nowadays .
It doesn't have to be about money though. My son, Ian, gets me an angel of some sort every year. He always picks out a beautiful one. Sometimes they are expensive, sometimes not, but they are always cherished.
You do have a point...although there's much to be said about a good wallop with a haddock, if you know what I mean! ;)Quote:

I'm not saying that there is an easy way around even if there is, i'm just groaning over the continous needs capitalism produced
There is that, Kedaman!
lol
i aint playin the race card, u have already told me b4 that ur not prejudiced and i believe u
that post wasnt just aimed as u, it was aimed at all those who treat rap as a bunch of niggers talkin ****, and there are a lot of people who think like that (your not one of them i know)
and most of the rappers do come from **** areas...compton, school street, the slums of long island, haiti, brownsville, long beach, brooklyn, the bronx
u should listen 2 the song "the message" by grandmaster flash and the furious five, it REALLY tells u the type of environment these people grew up in, and they were held down, mostly because of their colour, i never implied that u were racist, why would i??
and some come from suburban areas, but have **** lives...eminem is an example
so dont assume that im assuming that ur a racist, i though u would know me better than that, but guess not
I can imagine there is, but would you go so far to change the christmas tradition?
I am, and i'm always telling my family members this but they are just purely interested in materialism and the wonders of capitalism. I tell them that money enslaves you
