Don't you ever feel hopeless Parksie?
On occasion. Not at the moment though.
Ask me in a few months when I have exams :(
What exams do you have Parksie?
I feel fortunate as I have done all my exams!
Thank you;)Quote:

Okay....what the heck are Mechanics?.....other than someone who works on your car
The Maths A-Level is modular, with a total of 18 modules:
Pure 1-6 Calculus, algebra, matrices, etc.
Mechanics 1-6 Laws of motion, rigid bodies ;), etc.
Statistics 1-6 Covariance, averages, histograms, etc.
Yikes!!!!!! that seems like an awful lot of math for high school level......How many weeks for each module???
Whoops...forgot to mention that part...we're only taking 9 modules.
You take 6 modules for an A-Level, 6 more for the A-Level Further Maths, and 6 more to get a third A-Level that noone knows the name to because noone's sad enough to do it :p
It's a bit more complex than that, but that's the idea.
We're doing 9 modules, which gets you A-Level Maths and AS-Level Further Maths (about 1/2 an A-Level).
Total Modules: Pure 1-4, Statistics 1-2, Mechanics 1-3
That doesn't sound quite as itimitading as it did at first! Do you go to school year round or do you have the summers off?
We get the summer off...8 weeks. Although I go on exam leave (supposedly for revision but guess what I'll be doing  ) some time during early June.
Pure 4.... good luck :)
It's not too bad, actually...some people in my year are already on Pure 6  Now that's vicious.
I am bloody terrible at maths I failed it..
I am down on record at my school for saying: "Why do I need to learn Algebra when I have no intention of going there!"
God I feel old! I've been driving for well over a year now!
But it took me a long time to learn (about a year and a half), mainly cause I hate driving.
Congratulations anyway Alex.
How does it feel to be independent?
Took me 3 years !!!
(had a couple of month - 6 week intervals inbetween).
2 instructors !
(after 1 of these intervals, I couldn't find my instructors number  )
and 7 tests !
(On 4 of these I just failed on 1 thing - 1 thing [aaarrrggghhhhh] )
This time I got the pass plus 1st time & it lowers my insurance by 1/3rd - £1100 AFTER this reduction & I'm nearly 21.
Fantastic - it feels great. I have a car, license & garage, now I need the insurance which I'm hopefully sorting today ! :D :D :D :D :D
Well I had a break of about a year between my first load of lessons and the 1 week intensive course I took.
I still hate driving, it would be fine if there was no one else on the road.
I'm ok thank you,
Just finishing a project off now and talking to some people for the requirements of the next one
They say I need it finished by July........I can eaily do it in like 2 months, Probaly less, Just gota learn to use the ChartControl.....
If anyone has any examples (ADO preferably) I would be grateful?
So why is work so "great then?
Work is so great because I am doing absolutly nothing... I am waiting on customers replies to work I have done...
I hate waiting
So what type of work do you do?
My guess, somit to do with programming ;)
I support a program that lets our customers order electronic components from us - not too great so I help out IT & try to get into any programming options I can.
I used to be a buyer for a building company, I had so much work on it was unbelievable & I got stressed loads of times - but I prefer that hugely to having nothing to do - I've had 2 hours of work / support calls this week, and will probably get around 5 total this week - out of a 40 hour week, that's s**t !
Actually I am not a programmer, I am a designer. I know how to do very limited programming. HTML, JavaScript etc. I mainly use Flash (but that is at home - my contract work). At work (in National Grid Company plc), I am training to be an Analyst for Intranet design and services... Sounds like fun!
Couple of bits on the chart control at :

Thanks for that info Alex

The bit where I said That i guess that your programmer! LOL
Well what a boring morning......
I still haven't heard anything from any of the customers and I am left here twiddling my thumbs!
I was just reading through some of the other Threads and I haven't seen or heard (fortunately) from the pain in the arse Nucem....
I wonder what happened to him?
you wouldn't really expect anyone who does programming to be writing on this site anyway I guess... :p
So..................
Does anyone have any good jokes (i have read all the one's on the jokes thread). I need something to cheer myself up as I am bored out of my mind!
A husband and his wife were sound asleep when suddenly the phone rang.
The husband picked up the phone and said "Hello" "How the hell do I know?"
"What do I look like, a weatherman?" He then slammed the phone down and
settled into bed.
"Who was that?" asked his wife.
"I don't know. It was some guy who wanted to know if the coast was clear."
funny. Alex, I just noticed that you live in Stevenage. I used to live in Hertford. In Bengeo if you recognise it.....
Its s small world isn't it!
Blimy - know it well.
I used to work in Hertford - best part of last year.
Thought it was a nice little town - why did you move ?
I moved about 10 years ago with my Parents and Brother and Sister.. My dad got a better job so we moved. As you do.....
I was wondering if the place had changed much... Is the Whimpy still in the center of town?
So what work do you do? I work for National Grid in their Intranet Design team.
The whimpy isn't there any more if I remember rightly - haven't been for a few months, but I don't think anything has taken its place either...
I work for a company called Avnet over in Stevenage (supply electronic parts to Nokia etc for phones & electronics).
Used to work for builders in Hertford - Norris, great job that was, much better than here!
So do you ever visit there any more ?
I haven't been back to Hertford in about 6 years...... I doubt that anything I remember about it still exists. Especially my old school. Bengeo 1st school (thats a long time ago!).
I used to go swiming in the Lido near by (i think it was in Hatfield)... God this brings me back.
Blimy, yep, quite a bt's changed then as they've got a new pool also.
How does surry compare then ?
Surrey's pretty boring, or at least it is when you live bloody miles from everywhere.
is that where you live then Harry ? I like the location on your signature ;)
I would tend to agrre with Harry on this one but there is some good things and bad things about Guildford... good thing is that it is close to London, it is also half decent housing wise. Bad things are that it is quite inbred and people don't mix very well (this is outside of the University). People won't make any effort to talk to a stranger in a club etc....
me program :pQuote:

Anyway, isn't this the kill everyone I p***ed off thread?
Nope......
I have a game with like 2,000 solitare games..... me still got bored of playing them thou
Hey Anyone Managed to Score a Goal in FIFA 2001 Trial ?
I did today after 1 Week of Using It. Two Lovely Goals.
I played for Manchester United. We won 2-0
Nope, not too keen on this one, I prefer 200 version & play this more...
Hey Active, do people play kabbadi around your area? I remember they showed it on Channel 4 here a few years ago, it was very amusing
Yep ! Kabbadi ..as I think is a Descendant from Wrestling.
But this Game is Only For those With a good Physique.
And Definitely Not for Me.
I only have a Vague Knowlegde about it's Rules though!
The rules are Given Here:
http://www.hiindia.com/sports/Docs/kabplay.htm
Ahhh that would explain why they were always saying stuff (didn't know they were chanting 'kabaddi-kabaddi"). It was cool to watch :)
Had a crap valentines day this year....I'll join !
NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! Pix, you're much to young and sweet to join this bunch of sad "suicide by rusty spoon" folks......you're not allowed to smile or have fun if you join......not allowed flights of fancy or any nonsensical fun whatsoever...............come into the light........run away....get out now while you can!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ya see what we're dealing with Pix? Happy go lucky nutcases who are just begging for a rubber room. Face facts, life sucks and the sooner we all get used to it the better ;)
And Katie - no amount of exclamation marks is gonna save you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Exclamation marks can save you but only in a crazy mind! Hello how is everyone on this cold and horrible morning.
I am so glad that it is Friday... I am going to get very, very drunk tonight! Then tomorrow I have the joy of setting up a network for a network gaming session! Does everyone else have an interesting weekend ahead of them?
I doubt it.
You doubt that you will have an exciting weekend?
Well there's not much I can do about that.
How are you Harry?
I'm bloody marvellous, me, thank you for asking. I can't seem to control my sleep patterns, I woke up at 7pm last night and I'm still up. It's really starting to piss me off. Anyway, never mind about that. I'll have to try that drunkeness thing you mentioned.
Anyone heard anything about Ozzfest? Seems Sabbath, Tool, Slipknot and a few others are already lined up to go. Think I'll try and go, looks good.
my mate works for the local box office, so I think i'll be getting my tickets from him (booking-fee free mwahaha!)
Off to see (hed)pe and Apartment 26 tonight. Its going to be a busy night - its my works leaving do.
anyway harry - should be fun. Let me know when u get ur tix.
