Yeah, let's blame him for a change :D
And it wasn't necessarily directed at you but more to a group of people around here (you know who you are).

I read that article. Apart from the occasional use of biased wording it did make a fair bit of sense. It didn't justify anything though. The suicide bombings are still just murders, just as every time an Israeli soldier kills an innocent Palestinian it's a murder.
Some secret love you turned out to be. :(Quote:

I didn't hear you complaining last night
You still owe me £50 for that !
You're a cheap date, Wally.
I'm taking that £50 out of my fee for setting you up with Mikey. ;)
Cheap ? He had no more on him than £3000 ! At least no more that I could rob off him *grin*
I bet you another 50$ to bring you some picturesQuote:

ID - you don't need to worry about setting me up with anyone. I'm kept more than busy being a conservative American who supports Isreal and at the same time a man who is in love with and married to a Muslim woman.
In fact, I don't even know what I'm doing here, I get enough of this at home!!!
I always wonder that myself.Quote:

It was Wally I was doing the favour for. It's apparently a tough and loveless life being a male hare with man-boobs. :(
Oh bugger off, I'm shagadelic and you know it, you old balding softie you :p

You know, they have support groups for that sort of condition, too.
this one from december:

Inhofe rocks! I'd honestly never even heard of the guy. There's a new senator in my book of favorite Americans.
Hey Kovan, why don't you try reading those two statements and attempt a point-by-point rebuttal? That should be interesting, indeed.
how about i dont? because i dont read garbageQuote:

I rest my case.
If it were garbage, you could tear his statements apart and expose it as garbage.
Unfortunately for you, you cannot assail the truths of which he speaks.
if i had time to read volumes and volumes of garbage and tear it apart then i would have been famous or bored to death, either one
oh i didnt know you had a case your honour, may i proceed to the bench?
after that conversation with you, your no different then Aknisely (Adam) so i have decided that i dont have time to discuss things with you because i feel you are narrow minded who already has accepted the "truth" and will not take anything else in
when you present something that you want clarified or you want to discuss something specific let me know
but i am NOT gonna go read lot of garbage, if anything from that text you feel you want me to address i will but i will not go through it and state my opinion on all of it
Now, now, let's not ruin the friendly tone we had to our conversazione.
I always have an open mind, but can I help it if I get a sense of elation when I read the comments of a senator who speaks the things I feel in my heart in such clear and unfaltering terms?
Here's a point to address:
Show me the consensus of archeologists as to who's land this all was originally (as in, from the beginnings of written history.)
dont get me wrong, it was a friendly discussion and i still maintain the same tone ( i try to) so dont take anything in the wrong way
as for what you requested
i dont have any concensus of archeologists infront of me
going back to the FIRST written history is not going back to the ORIGINAL owners fo the land.
as people have mentioned it before this thread, the land has been occuppied by different races.
Roman Empire, Pharoah, Crosades.. you name
you bring me the consensus of world (NOT US) archeologists who the land belongs to since i dont have anything infront of me
I'll try. The earliest documents foud in the region were Hebrew they were some sort of writings found in Mesopotamia, dating back to 2000- 1500 BCE. As far a claim to the land who knows. People were nomadic then and usually didn't stay in place for a very long time at least thats what the archeologists say. Personally I think they are all full of it and we were dropped off here by aliens as a science experiment 20 years ago and all of that stuff including our memories were planted as props to keep humans busy. any how, supposedly the first people to settle permanantly were the Hebrews and the Philistines but the hebrews killed all of the Philistines and they are extinct.
i like that idea of being dropped of by aliensQuote:

woudl we be aliens too?
Sort of, were like Alien Lab rats or mabe even on the level of test monkeys since they gave us nukes. not sure my real memory has been erased :D
and you would be the rat that aliens cant figure out why you are so strange from the rest of us
with extra ears and one eye
Well, usually Dry Bones cartoons are not supposed to be all the time funny and even less nowdays. I didn't find any of them funny, but...Quote:

The lower left cartoon from Dry Bones, is there supposed to be a joke in that one? I mean, to me, that one seems right on the money and not funny but just a pure and simple truth.
Acording to what Bush said a couple of days ago...It really sounds like a joke rather than a simple truth. I mean, who is trying to widen the conflict anyway?Quote:

nad_scorp I'm disapointed. The interrogations you make mean that you didn't have a look at the link I gave you, when I did see your links... I don't believe you're trying to figure out the Truth (as you say you seek) but just picking a side to fight for.
Riiight let's compare the amounts of blood and see who are the bad guys and who are the good guys.:mad:Quote:

Yup Every once in a while they show up on my doorstep zap me a few times with the laser gun, make a few ear and eye jokes give me a wedgie and then cruise off in their space ship. :(Quote:

Bastards:mad: ;)
>Riiight let's compare the amounts of blood and see who are the bad guys and who are the good guys.
Good bit of sarcasm there, Moon. Too often we get caught up into a debate about which side has had the worst end of the conflict. The horrors are on a level impossible to compare and quantify, except for maybe in death tolls, and still the death toll is only a part of the misery.

Let me take a totally different tact for a minute and try to imagine if the roles were reversed.
Imagine the sole Arabic homeland in the world taking claim to a disputed land. Imagine this lone, solitary Arabic state unjustly evicting scores of people from their homes, and able to do so because they have the technological superiority. As the only democracy in the region, they also receive a quite substantial amount of foreign aid from the U.S.
This Arab homeland is surrounded by half a dozen or more Jewish states, dictatorships with a real chip on their shoulder because some of their brethren have been kicked out of their homes by the Arabic state.
Knowing the nature of these two tribes that have been at war for perhaps three millenia, perhaps longer, knowing these people's character as we do today, how do you think this whole scenario would play out if the tables were completely switched?
First off, that sole Arabic state would not have shown the restraint that Israel has shown. In this alternate reality, if the Arabs had an upper hand like the Jews do in the here and now, they would have massacred all the surrounding Jewish states until the U.S. and the rest of the world told them to knock it off or else.
Second off, the Jews would probably have the sense to realize that they have 10 or 20 times the land and so the surrounding Jewish states would accept the refugees into their own lands and forget about the barren lands that all this fighting is over. They would band together and take care of their own, and accept the incoming refugees in a degree exactly opposite of the way that Lebanon and the rest of the Arab states have left the refugees hanging in the wind. The Arab countries only seem to care about the Palestinians as a tool for rhetoric.
Look at the land that was before the Jews took over in (if my memory serves me) 1948. That whole area was totally worthless. The Jews came in and made a paradise out of it, they must plant a million friggin' trees there a year. Yeah, now that you've made it worth something, give us back our friggin' land.
I'm married to an Arabic woman and I love her as much as any one person could ever love another and my mother-in-law is just about the most wonderful mother I could ever imagine, in-law or not. But if you look at how these people have behaved as masses, how can you not root for the democracy of Israel? What's the alternative? Leaders like Qaddafy, Saddam Hussein, Arafat and Bin Laden???
The Muslim world at one time was the most enlightened people on the planet, but they have not only stagnated but devolved into the most barbaric and totalitarian group of states in the world. It's time for these countries to pull their heads out of their asses, overthrow their leaders, stop treating women as second class citizens, institute democracies, leave the 15th century behind and join the rest of the civilized world.
yup
And if you see them aliens kickem in the nads for me!
I don't know about whether we were planted here by aliens, but there's always the possibility that they'll come and get us sometime in the future.
I always loved the Perry Farrel lyrics to the Porno for Pyros song Pets.
Pets
Children are innocent
a teenager's ****ed up in the head
adults are even more ****ed up
and elderlies are like children
will there be another race
to come along and take over for us?
maybe martians could do
better than we've done
we'll make great pets! X8
[Guitar solo]
my friend says we're like the dinosaurs
only we are doing ourselves in
much faster than they
ever did
we'll make great pets! X8

Good song, I like the lyrics to "Packin" off of the same album too.
I had to track that one down to refamiliarize myself.
Damn, that should be the NRA's anthem!
Whew! What a night. I just came back from the city. Time square is locked up with thousands of palistine protesters protesting.
They had 1200 hundred protesting in Sydney today..... marching and chanting and burning US flags. Apparently our PM got confused and thought it was the Farmers lobby;)
At least there was no flag burning. ;) At least non that i saw. I think fists would have been flying if that was the case. :p i did see a couple of jews yelling at the opposition though.
>Time square is locked up with thousands of palistine protesters protesting.
Ship 'em all back to the Middle East where they can strap explosives to themselves and blow their dumb asses up - only to find out that Allah isn't a fan of terrorism after all.
