Well we have legislation that limits what the State can so. They partnered with a grocery/department store chain to get around the law to offer a modest lottery. Those getting vaccinated during the program are eligible for more frequent drawings with a $50K grand prize. Everyone vaccinated is eligible for two drawings where the grand prize is $1M the first one and $2M the second.
So there was a lot of weaseling to get around legal challenges yet still provide incentives to people to newly get vaccinated.

The whole vaccine lottery thing seems bizarre. You wont get vaccinated to protect your life or to keep from infecting your family and friends. But you will get vaccinated for a long shot chance to win money. That's a sad statement about peoples priorities. Crazy world.
It's actually more aimed at those that might be on the fence about it or putting it off "just because" ... it's not intended to move ani-vaxxers over the fence. Only the ones already on it.

Ages below 50 do not need to vaccinate but it's your choice ages 65+ would have to carefully study the risks, If they are in good health without issues then NO but again your choice, if they have issues and they want to take the risk of a stage 3 conditional vaccine then.... Your choice.
I'm speaking for Greece now but it seems like a micrography of what is going on. Every day for about a week now I'm getting up for work, turning the TV on till I get ready. EVERY day on the news they are terrorizing people that if they don't do the vaccine they will die or be really sick from covid, they wont be able to go to a restaurant or to a shop and every day I give the finger to anyone on the TV at the time and go to work. One day I was in a hurry and I gave the finger to a super beautiful anchor woman, I regretted that :blush: . They do that while we have 2-3 death per day due to summer while "theoretically" we had 200 deaths per day a few months ago.
So terror, terror, vaccinate, vaccinate, hubba, hubba, hubba! Money, money, money! Who do you trust? Government pigs? Their are giving away free money. And where is the covid? HE'S AT HOME WASHING HIS lipoma!

Delta is hitting hard in the UK, and as he said many places like the U.S. haven't seen it yet in significant numbers.
UK and Peruvian "Lambda" crops up here and there but I don't see very much discussion of that variant yet aside from some tub-thumping about on it Globalist Privatized Radio (er, "NPR" here in the US).
Someone should tell them that after Delta is Epsilon , Zita, Ita etc not Lamda or I missed something and the variants exploded to lambda .

Since they are using just Greek letters for each variant, I could believe that we are up to Lambda, though I have no idea. Once you start naming all the variants...well, there are likely to be lots of them, many of which will get little press. Still, that seems like a really bad idea. If you count every variation, there should be dozens of them, in which case you'd run out of letters. Just naming the major variants seems like the way it has gone, and the way it should go. In that case, we shouldn't be up to Lambda....unless we are just trying to get to Mi.

Meanwhile, there's that article in #2592. That's not an argument about vaccination, that's life. If you were to take that as a reason not to get vaccinated, you also might not want to treat anything. Otherwise, that study doesn't suggest that vaccinations are bad, it's saying that the delta variant can break through the protection of the vaccines more effectively than previous variants. The Economist has a much more thorough explanation of how and why that is happening. However, they also point out that deaths from the delta variant are almost exclusively among the non-vaccinated, though they do somewhat suggest that, while the delta variant is many times more transmissible than the original flavor, it may be less deadly.
You can also get some much better insight by reading the latest Scientific American. A better drug, that may be vastly more effective, may be on the horizon. That should cheer you up, because you've favored drugs over vaccines, so if we call this a drug you can be happy about that...ignore the fact that it acts like a vaccine...just ignore that, nothing to see here, move along.
