Ok... i just got home from school, so i haven't read this thread yet. What i know is that two planes hit both the world trade center towers, and they are both gone. Also a plane crashed in pennsylvania. and yet another plane hit the fifth circle (quadrant, whatever) of the pentagon. So far i have heard no word on where the planes were from, or why this was done. If anyone knows anything please PM me or something. I have heard that there may be more terrorist bound planes in the air, but i am not sure. I live in Binghamton NY, which is about an hours drive (on bus) away from NYC... and our school had a complete lockdown for 3.5 hours today, and my f ucking soccer game got canceled because of this.
I definately agree, if it was just property destroyed then i could try and see from their point of view, but innocent people died today. I do not think that we should use nuclear weapons however because that would only worsen matters.Quote:

The two planes in Whitehorse were Korean, and got diverted from Alaska when the US airports were shut down. One was way off course and both are suspected as having been hijacked, but this is not confirmed.
It could be that the Korean pilots got confused with all the diversions to Canada.
They're asking people in Calgary to put up people in their houses as all the planes diverted here have filled up the hotels.

My apologies to everyone, I guess I needed to get that out. I was present in OKC for the bombing, and now this, I just don't understand the thinking. I do not condone death of any kind and do not really wish the death of anyone. It just angers me to see such blatant joy at the death of 50k+ innocents that pushes me to the brink.

Don't get me wrong, I fully condemn the events and deplore the innocent deaths.
But first of all, it is not known to which faction these terrorist were affiliated to nor do we know what their purpose was (besides a mad suicide disaster).
They may very well be affiliated to Osama Bin Laden but this not at all sure. They may also be enraged nutcases trying to damage the US by any means possible. They are extremists, whatever creed they are and should be punished.
But there is no need to start this "war talk" before all details are filled in and if Bush wants to prove to the world that he does possess any intelligence, to the contrary of popular belief, then now is the time for him to show it.
Any wild, "cowboy style" form of retaliation will most probably (and hopefully) meet the same condemnation and scorn from world leaders as the events of today.
Let's hope he has some common sense after all ...

Dilenger4, the attacks are not justified at all. It's just that in the spate of the moment you might be targetting the wrong community and people. Whether you are right or wrong, please be patient. Let us first know who was behind these attacks and why. It could just be some non-religious reason as well.

One of the towers has about 20 floors left (I think the northern tower) the second tower is a crater. One of the supporting buildings in the center is now aflame and looking as if it is about to collapse as well.
