You should have taken a cow instead of a car!
Nah, that's really more of a sporty weekend thing.

Hows things in the land of Ian?
Hi Stacey, in need of another weekend tog et over the last 4 days but other than that fine, you ? :)
Morning all . . . . slightly belated I know, but hey I'm a busy man . . . !
hi matt, good weekend ? was just up the road from you this weekend. spent 3 lovely days in leeds :)
Know what you mean - couldn't be arsed to come to work today :)
Went to Drayton Manor on Saturday - glorious day (theme park thingy in the midlands if you've never heard of it) Cost me £49.50 to get in (paid for two others 'coz I'm soooo generous)... we went on 2 rides and then went home - so not a waste of money at all  ...
...Then found out I was one of the lucky so-and-so's that didn't get paid at the end of the month because of a Barclays cock-up so countless cheques made will have bounced/not enough in the bank to cover direct debits going out...ooops
So, partying hard then ;)
I was quite lucky with the barclays problem as though my account isn't with them, the company I work for is. But I still managed to get paid which was a relief. was partying hard friday night, went to teh cinema and ten pin bowling saturday night, drove back home sunday ( all of 300 miles) and went on the social rounds yesterday so it was a v.good weekend. can only part hard once or twice a month now as my body can't take it as much in my old age ;) :p
LOL, I was supposed to be going clubbing Thursday night - met up with everyone at the pub, but it was too noisy/busy for me and X, so we sloped off to a hotel bar and sat with a load of old crumplies - never bothered going to the club, got a takeaway and went home - my mum partys harder than me
I used to live in Leeds (for all of about a month) in a lovely little place called Harehills  Taxi drivers refused to take you home to Harehills for fear of being shot or something. (Much like Chapeltown too)... where abouts did you go?
Oh yeah, did you know Vera Duckworth lady is the Mayoress of Leeds? I know this because she asked for me and X to be escorted out of a restaurant she was in 'coz we were smoking a joint - party pooper :(
lol, that's the spirit Girl :DQuote:

My friend lives in headingly ( About 2 mins walk away from the cricket ground) so spent my couple of days round there :)
ahhh the posh bit :p very nice!
Leeds... ahhh the memories.
Discovered Banana vodka there!!
Nice little place called the Dry Dock (Its a pub thats like a boat) - first pub I'd been to that accepts switch cards at the bar and offers cash-back facilities - one for the students :D
he's on his last year of uni, so he's house sharing with a couple of his student friends. The last time I went up there was for new years eve for 2k. I got really pished that evening and only survived untill about 12.30 before I passed out. went out with all his friends on friday night and it was "Oh yeah I remember you Ian, your the lightwight southerner who passed out" all evening :D
I rest my case . . . m'lud.Quote:

in my defense though, I started at 6pm, was onto southern comfort by 8 (my favorite and only spirit I drink), lost the tumbler I was drinking it out of and proceded to spend the rest of the evening going around, drinking it out of teh bottle :D. woke up new years day and there was less than a quarter of a bottle left :o
Greetings, shandy drinking southerners :p
Actually, I can't talk really, I'm always first to the floor - although I've been told I "drink a lot for a girl"......... dunno really, it's all relative. [debate mode]
1) I can't handle pernod
6) I'm more into herbal remedies ;)
[/debate mode]
I'm off to see if Barclays have managed to sort their **** out yet... see ya laters
salutations, West county cider drinkers :p
I can't believe **** is censored
bye Stacey, hope it all turns out ok :)
*wondering what designation Ian will come up with for me*
tumtidumtidumtidum ...
:)
good tidings, Belgian blonde bier drinkers that is ocasionally black
Err ... Guinness isn't Belgian Ian :p
It might just have been that I was incredibly pished or/and that the barman miss understood what I was asking, but the time I was in antwerp, I asked what the strongest larger is that this bar had and I came back with a glass of something that looked like guiness but the barman insisted it wasn't :)
I think I know what it is but it isn't that black (or that strong :p)
Sounds interesting!
Do they have Mann's Brown Ale in Belgium?
Either Pakhuis donker or Affligem would be my guess ...
you do have to take into consideration that my eyes and mind were incredibly hazy that evening and it cold have been illuminous yellow water and I would have been none the wiser :D
You were probably drinking Fanta Pomolo then :p
Is that stronger than Shandy?

A long, long time ago I can still remember how that music used to make me smile and I knew if I had my chance that I could make those people dance and maybe they'd be happy for a while but February made me shiver with every paper I delivered, bad news on the door step, I couldn't take one more step, I can't remember if I cried when I read about his widowed bride but something touched me deep inside, the day, the music, died. So...
CHORUS
Bye, bye Miss American Pie drove my Chevy to the levy but the levy was dry an them good ol' boys were drinkin whiskey and rye singin this will be the day that I die, this will be the day that I die.
Did you write the book of love and do you have faith in God above, if the bible tells you so, and do you believe in rock n' roll, can music save your mortal soul and can you teach me how to dance real slow? Well I know that you're in love with him cuz I saw you dancin in the gym you both kicked off your shoes and I dig those rhythm and blues. I was a lonely teenage bronkin buck with a pink carnation and a pick up truck but I knew I was out of luck, the day, the music, died. I started singin...
Chorus
Now for ten years we've been on our own and moss grows fat on a rollin stone but that's not how it used to be, when the jester sang for the king and queen in a coat he borrowed from James Dean and a voice that came from you and me, oh and while the king was looking down, the jester stole his thorny crown the courtroom was adjourned, no verdict was returned, and while Lenin read a book on Marx, the quartet practiced in the park and we sang dirges in the dark, the day, the music, died. We were singin...
Chorus
Helter Skelter in a summer swelter the birds flew off with a fallout shelter, eight miles high and fallin fast, its the land that falled on the grass the players tried for a forward pass with the jester on the sidelines in a cast, now the half-time air was sweet perfume while the sergeants played a marching tune we all got up to dance oh but we never got the chance oh as the players tried to take the field the marching band refused to yield do you recall what was revealed, the day, the music, died. We started singin...
Chorus
Oh and there we were all in one place, a generation lost in space with no time left to start again, so come on, Jack be nimble, Jack be quick, Jack Flash sat on a candle stick because fire is the devils only friend, oh and as I watched him on the stage, my hands were clinched in fists of rage, no angel born in hell could break that satan's spell and as the planes climbed high into the night to light the sacrificial right I saw satan laughing with delight, the day, the music, died. He was singin...
Chorus
I met a girl who sang the blues and I asked her for some happy news but she just smiled and turned away, I went down to the sacred store where I'd heard the music years before but the man there said the music wouldn't play and in the streets the children screamed, the lovers cried, and the poets dreamed but not a word was spoken, the church bells all were broken and the three men I admire most, the Father, Son, and the Holy Ghost, they caught the last train for the coast, the day, the music, died, and they were singin...
Chorus
They were singin... Bye, bye Miss American Pie drove my Chevy to the levy but the levy was dry an them good ol' boys were drinkin whiskey and rye singin this will be the day that I die.

Good to see you're happy katie :)
Whahey ! AudioG works and found me some Pogues songs ! Copyrights, pogue mahone, Shane will drink it up anyway :D
Foodadledee ! ;)
Hi Wally
You probably looked there first, but have you tried Limewire for mp3s - it's usually got what I'm looking for.
just did a search on kazaa Wally and it reyrned shiate loads :)
www.kazaa.com
I saw the Pogues when they opened for Bob Dylan years ago! Was a great concert at the Greek (an outdoor venue).....back in the day!!!!!
Never knew about Limewire to be honest. Link me up will ya ? ;)
And Ian, KaZaa is spyware which is definately a no-no on this machine (well, so is AudioG but it never works anyway so I rarely bother with it :D)
Go here
and download the prog (its free)
and install and run it.
I think it's great because you can minimise it to the systray - so no nosey parkers can see you downloading stuff - and it's dead easy to use - which is a must for me :)
You can find games/graphics/music - loads of stuff
Great ! [Jap. imitation] Thankie thankie vellie mutch [/Jap. imitation]
No probs :)
Have fun!
I'm going to the pub - have a lovely day/night everyone
Byeeeee :)
Hiya!
I've seen the Pogues 3 times :D
At Glastonbury in 1986 I was right stood right in front of the speakers when they were on, loudest think ever, not sure if my ears have been the same since (and I've got big ears) :p
I've often wondered if the size of the ears are in direct relation to the size of the.........err........well, you know......... :oQuote:
(and I've got big ears)
....tail! :D
Never had the pleasure to see them live :(
Qua loudness ... I've stood right at the stage at the recent Ozzfest.
