nasty mate. we are quite lucky in Hastings the whole town is two big hills that run down to the sea, so we never really have flooding problems apart from when the new storm drain system that cost about 6 million pounds, falls over in the first 6 month's and floods half the town centre :rolleyes:

It's horizontal here (not a decent hill in sight, we're hardly 10 metres above sea level). The trouble really is that the water levels of the nearby rivers and byrivers rise dramatically each year after a period of serious rainfall and storm.
Then the water flows freely over the land, streets and houses.
Dams ? Yeah right. Strengthened after the big flood in '95 and still it overflows :rolleyes:
Army chaps were good though, handing out sand bags and all, pulling out the big material to stop the water but to no avail.
Another year, another flood.

#1 piston and cylinder??? I am mechanically challenged but that's what my firend says and he's fix it many times before...so if he says it's terminal I'll believe him. It had 300K miles on it and the engine has already been rebuilt once...so it's not the unexpected. Now I just have to find another one to replace it.
If your cambelt breaks then the timing goes out on the pistons so it slams into the valves before they've finished closing which can seriously wreck them (i.e. write-off the entire car in a lot of cases).

I really can't honestly complain.....all three kids have learned to drive in it so it's had some fun in it's day too!

My mum's car's only got 16K on it :p
She takes it out on the back roads to practice. She can get her permit in May and her license in November.

16 over there, right? I think it's too young but then again I would...
Yep! 15 and a half for the permit.....must drive with an adult over 21....and then 16 for your license....can drive yourself between 5am and 12pm no passengers......and then 16 and a half you can drive whenever and whoever you want.
Ouch. Ours is simpler ;)
Provisional at 17, have to drive with someone over 21 who's had a licence for 3 years, can take your theory test at any time, then take your practical when you've passed the theory.
In theory, you can pass on your 17th birthday but it takes a bit of organising ;)
