Yeah for Parksie!!! When might you start?
Perhaps monday :)
I'm suffering paranoid depression? No way, i'm just experiencing my expanded senses, i can feel the emotional fluxuations of cold hate sourrounding me
Ked - your absolutley right. I would sleep with one eye open from now on, and expect to wake up with a horse head next to you and I'm not talk about some slapper you have pulled down the local night club ;) :p
Stop following me! :pQuote:

Lucky you! There's nothing better than losing your heart! Excellent fringe benefits!
Oh nooooooooo! You have no idea how it is to be litterally emotionally disturbed
Gentlemen, I must get to work. I will be back later with a wheelbarrow full of mackeral for you!
Katie - sorry about the bad 70's song pun .......... hang about, this is post race, why am i appolagising :D
Good good :) That you're bringing back mackerel, not that you're leaving :(Quote:

la la la
Okay...so I decided to come back early! The mackeral was smelling up my cubicle and the cubemates were starting to complain. I offered to let each of them have one and they refused on account of there being no whipped cream handy. It's so hard to please some people!
No whipped cream? A quick yank of an Elephant and voila!
Thanks for that Bonker. I really am leaving this time. I'll leave you in chagre of the mackeral and whipped cream. Remember to share!
Morning All!
Parksie! I'm glad the interview went well.
He he he. A word of warning though. My first real job out of College was with British Energy, I ended up serving a 5 year sentence in a nuclear powerstation.... it made me the man I am today :D. Be afraid. be very afraid.
Of course they were known by the far less politically correct names of Nuclear Electric and Scottish Nuclear then.
So where are you going to be working?
SD
1: It's only for a year :DQuote:

2: Doing software for analysing stress on mechanical components :)
afternoon all.
I have an idea. We should have a weekly poll, for the most annoying person on the boards, and the winner for that week has their title (or maybe avatar) changed for that week.
What do you reckon?
td.
Exellent idea....but it would be a tough race! I have a feeling my vote would always be the same every week though!
same here. I bet we're talking about the same person too ;-)
td.
I imagine so! Did Bonker share the mackeral with you?
nope, selffish bastard!
td.
That's what I get for trusting a dolphin with a wheelbarrow full of makeral. I should have known better!
Well, better than trusting it to me ;)
Not only did he not share....he left and took the whole kit and kaboodle with him! I hate to think what he might be doing with all that fish and whipped cream.
Without a word of a lie, thats exactly what they told me :DQuote:

This stress thingy. Is this where they put bits of metal inside the reactor, and take them out every two years during the outage to do analysis on them?
TD! An excellent idea.
SD
Katie -
SD - Well, I'm off to Uni after a year so they're not keeping me that long :D
Very perceptive...basically right on apart from it's all the integral components rather than extra bits.
Cool!
That should be pretty good fun. (assuming they don't have a legacy system running!). Do you know where in the country you are going to be working?
SD
My job will be helping to convert a legacy system (running on Suns! WOO!) to a newer one (also on Suns :p)
Working in Cheltenham which is good because dad can give me a lift in in the mornings, but they finish early on friday so I'll take mum's car then.
Hey Sd...do you do that MSN Instant Messenger stuff at all?
Parksie: Its good that they're not actually assigning you to one of the powerstations. They're pretty drab and boring places.
I only ask, because you might end up working with some of the folk that know me, but most of them are north of the border.
It's just that I had a tiny-eeny-weeny bit of a *cough* reputation *cough* when I was there, as a bit of a practical joker. (I still have some of the letters of complaint lying around :D ). well, what do they expect when they stick me out on some pinnacle jutting into the North Sea with 1,000 (male) engineers. Bordeom city. You have to liven it up somehow.
Katie: Re; Instant messenger. I don't do it in work, but I do have it on my home machine.
The machines here are pretty locked down as to what we can and can't do to them! (Make of that what you will ;))
SD
I don't have it at work either but I have it at home. I ended the evening last night chatting with someone who was just getting up to go to work......time zones are amazing things! It was a great way to end the day!
Before that I was talking to a VBW member who was trying to get me to pay for hosting his site!?!? I used all the usual Mom techniques
"Why don't you make a deal with your parents...you get straight A's and they pay for your hosting"
His answer was that his grades weren't good enough and he couldn't be bothered to study as his computer was his life.
It went on in this same vein until it was definitely time for me to go.................
The point is.......It would be great if you popped in occaissionally!....err...popped into instant messenger, I mean!
That could be interesting ;)
Although...I have a free day tomorrow so staying up incredibly late is acceptable - be scared! I can chat to you all of your evening ;) (all my morning :D)
I could die of old age waiting for VBW to respond today so I'm going to go eat lunch and see if it's any faster when I come back!
Cool!
