Turtle you remember the post i made today about transparence and stay on top. I can do it but I want a speacial form ( like your but dont worry I dont took yours). How you did that ?
For skinning, we can you ActiveSkin.
...Anyone wanna shell out for it? *cough*;)
I used a custom control to do it. It is the FormMove control inside the THEMA PolyForm control suite (free) at http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/Haven/2118 . As for the on-top part, I just used the API, so probably the same code as you.Quote:

...Just uploading my newest work. Replaced the graphics and turned them into GIFs instead of BMPs (Smaller size). Also added "Remember Password" check box. (Not working, b/c code needs to be implemented AFTER we get server up and running.)
Nice work Eisecure ;)
Turtle I found the thing you told me, I will work more on it but for moment all figure i did don't show like the one I did lol but I will work on it.
:D
I'm off to bed and have school tomorrow, so you probably won't hear from me until about 2:30 PM EST USA.
Good Night Turltle !
I will go sleep in few but I will be back only after 8pm, I hope to help you more tommorow :)
What timezone are you in Daok? Or easier waht time is it when you post a reply to this?
:D :D :D
Well, it's 9:31pm here in US Central Time (Texas).
I'm gonna go sleep at 10:30, but I'm finished programming for the day. I get another day off tomorrow. *mocks Filburt*:D
Anyways, here's what I've got so far.
Hey filburt, don't you have school today? ;)
I can do some simple Flash animation. They could look good if Filburt makes the graphics right...:D
I need a meeting with the Flash staff.. Erm, this time Saturday okay?
Um...I'm not too sure. If I can, i'll show up. No guarantees, though.
eiSecure, why don't you upload the source of your progress
And what about using WinZip's (or whatever your're using for creating zip files) encryption function instead of SecureIt?
Okay, here it is.
The encrypted source code zip file. Just decrypt w/ Secure-It! 2002. Same password
VBForums won't let me upload both. File size too big.
http://www.alsoft.f2s.com/revolutionnetwork
BTW: it really works now, eiSecure
The Revolution Network MSG-Board is now available on the Page I mentioned above :D
stickman373 Im Estern Time, im from Montreal/Quebec/Canada
I have 2 years of experience with Flash 3-4-5 and I can help with VB just give me stuff to do.
Yahoo : darkdizox
I dont know why but i dont see any of my friend in my yahoo list. well Yahho messenger is the worse messenger after MSN i think.
Nice work on the forum! I'm setting up a seperate website for the program itself.
If you guys still need a good VB programmer, just yell... I'm willing to participate ;)
:) Now there is a new design on the current (temporary) website of revolution network and nearly everything works so far (write in the guestbook and in the forum, pleeeaaaase)
the revolution network website is located at http://www.alsoft.f2s.com/revolutionnetwork
Please may I ask who finalized the name 'Revolution Network'...?
I don't think anyone did, But it seems to be the only name ppl thought of and everyone seems to be going with it ?
Do you not like it? What would be better?:)
Yes, I do like it! It's just that all these talks of 'Revolution Network' when it's not been totally confirmed! However, it is a good name... I await the subleader's response.
I don't know who decided that it is going to be named Revolution Network but as everybody was talking about this name I used it on the temp. website but I can change it within minutes if needed.
Any Flash/PhotoShop stuff ready yet? (for the Website)
BTW: Do you like my webdesign (just about Layout and Navigation)
http://www.alsoft.f2s.com/revolutionnetwork
To be honest, it looks noobish :) (newbie'ish)
though i work as a professional webdesigner :D
ok im back of school and ready to help :D
Well, I've almost got a site ready. I'll tell you address when it's finished.
Devion, I know that my webdesign could be better but I didn't want the site to look good but to work and i didn't spend my time on designing a great website but on writing (most of) the CGIs that are used on the site.
Before start to make the real website with all the design we should think if the name will be 'Revolution Network' or other thing.
Well what other names do people have for it??? :p
With lots of luck I'll have vBulletin lite running on the temporary site soon...
At the moment I'm waiting for the DB Server to reconfigure...
:) If anyone of you has other ideas how our service should be called pleeeaaase post them!
Until then I'll leave Revolution Network as name for the Service on the Website.
BTW: Revolution Network sounds quite good, nearly revolutionary ;)
I like that name to ,
Eh.Quote:

:D I guess it's alright, but the word "Revolution" is used WAAAY too much out of context, so I would prefer an alternate just in case. I request that it be called "The Project." :D :D
Like what? Can you make a crude drawing in Paint or something just so I can get an idea of what you would like?Quote:

A small tip:
When you have the communication protocol finished of the msn-alike app. You can use PHP to create a webmessaging system too, so that people can also send msg's from the site itself.
This system is aimed for users that are in other countries on vacation and stuff and want to be in contact with the homefront :-)
-
I wondered if you guys thought about msg queuing or not (ICQ) or just the Only-message-when-online style like MSN,AIM and soforth ?
Also, if you are going to make a welcome screen that is HTML-Based, do not try to use the IE OCX version, but create your own html parser. This way the application stays small.
Thats all ;)
That would be more of a b**** to write than the supporting server for the IM. But since I'm the graphics/UI man, that doesn't really matter. :D :DQuote:

Not as b*tchy as to try to use a IE OCX when you are using Navigator :-)
I don't want a dependency to IE anywhere at all, mostly because we're not licensed to distribute it and I actually want this project to be almost completely legal. :D
Almost legal.. nice =D
-
Btw..
I'm still interested in helping ;)
Who's butt do i have to kick to get in on this :)
But as "lite" already sais it's not as good as the version of vBulletin used on vbForums
Due to this I'll leave the old Forum uploaded, too.
BTW: I gonna put a poll on the temp. site where you can submit your idea of a name for the service and select which one you like best.
Agreed, it is gonna be 100% legal.Quote:

<Network> Today will be the welcome page, which is updated frequently. I don't actually want to use HTML much, either.
Ask the oh holy leader, also known as j2k. :) He'll probably copy this text: Sure! What would you like to work on? :pQuote:

My basic work on the home screen:
http://www.vbforums.com/attachment.php?s=&postid=517389
Not very smart to use that lill' slogan btw. Microsoft will sue us asap ;) ("What would you like to do today?")
Well.. as a response to filburt1...
I know:
- Adobe photoshop
- Macromedia Dreamweaver
- Visual Basic (Winsock, DX, creating DX games and stuff)
- Webdesign (take a look at http://www.clanpoint.net/secret/news.php) Note: I created the design and worked it out in php. (Notepad XP rulez) :)
- Project management
So... i can work on any area which needs attention :P
-- Update --
I took the liberty to also make a gui like filburt did, only i added a small logo that could get us all into jail :D
but the point is that you need to make a (for the gui designers) contrast of colors that is recognisable but not infrigement (like Send IM is a bit copyrighted if i'm not mistaken)
http://www.clanpoint.net/msn.jpg
Christ, just take over the project why don't you. :p
*grin*.. i could but i won't ;)
It's better to team up then to find a team that wants to work with ya... (been there, done that and got the scars to prove it) :p
Since our illustrious leader is nowhere to be seen at the moment, I propose three different teams or subprojects:
Server-side
Client
Web
The web is probably the easiest part, and the server should be extremely painful. :) In fact for speed, the server should probably be written in C++, especially because you can multithread better in it.
<Pants out of breath> I'm here! I'm here!
The main interface will look similar to
http://www.vbforums.com/
Devion - to your request to join the project: Sure! What would you like to work on? :p
I presume there is documentation build of each seperate projects modules to be created?
- What does it do?
- How it communicates with other subsystems
- Who works on it
You know.. that stuff :)
Comments are the spawn of satan! They add kbs to the project files (which we all must cart around to each other once the slightest update has occured)
They have invented CVS for that 'carting' around ya know =)
or create a own source archival/repository. though that is a whole new project on itself =)
btw, I also wondered if the team has a irc channel or something similiar ?

No we don't. All online collaboration is done via Yahoo Messenger.
