Are you refering to the dead sea scrolls? If you are then you are mistaken. Despite the fact that most of these have been taken in by the vatican and only snippits released for external viewing, much has been found that was "left out" of the original bible. Including texts that reveal things about Jesus' life that many christians would prefer to ignore.

You can (and will) choose to interpret day anyway you want to make it fit what you want to believe. I don't think that it is particularly a bad thing to do that; everyone does it (including myself) when they interpret reality in order to re-inforce their existing beliefs.

I'm sorry that so many of you do not believe in a heaven or in Jesus Christ...

Let me say just a couple things...

I personally do believe in Jesus Christ and of his imminent return. Those of you who believe that there is no heaven and that all go directly to hell will surely do so unless you reallize the truth (however, you will see the throne of God and all of his glory before you are sent to hell for your obvious disbelief in his existance and in his saving grace)

Being "religious" or being "holy" are not the key elements that need to be looked at. Having Faith is all that matters...

The very well known biblical verse John 3:16 reads:

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

Don't you see??? Knowing the the Bible or the Quran word for word, or proving that each and every verse is congruent with every other relevant verse is not the answer. The whole idea and concept behind God's love for man and man's love for God is the belief and faith that he does exist, and that he did give us his son so that we may have everlasting life with him. If you don't believe in God and the Kingdom of heaven as a child does, without question of his word, his guide to life, then there is no chance that you could ever understand the Word of God untill you do believe.

Sure, you that argue that there is no God are going to spit something at me like... "Well the Bible says that you must confess your sins, what about that???"

Answer: Yes the bible does say that you must confess your sins, but if you believe in God and that his word is true, then there should be no problem talking to your Holy creator and asking him into your life.

Remember, all you have to do is want with you whole heart to believe and to want with your whole heart to have him into your life, and that will be enough to start a relationship that will last for an eternity. From that moment on, if you truly believe that he can and will change you, I promise you that your life will be different. And I can promise you that, because God has promised that to all of mankind.

One last thing...

For those of you who still don't believe, yet you quote the bible, let's just say that this devine entity that we in Christ like to call God does exist... You obviously believe the Bible has some credence because you are using verses from it in your arguements. Would an entity so powerful and full of love for his creation lie and use tretchery to decieve???

The answer is no. Plain and simple... No.

What does this mean? You have to believe to become aware of his word. Also another thing, a "child" is not believe in these things, will these children go to where?

First, If you believe in neither, that is still not believing in God, so it doesn't matter...

Second, I don't have all of the answers... I am only one person, and certainly not an authority on the matter, but I will try to find an acceptable answer for your question.

Third, When I (and Jesus Christ) say that you must believe as a child, don't take it literally. What I mean is that a child believes what it is told simply because it knows no better... A child, up until the age of 6 or 7 believes, without question, that there is a Santa, because that's what they are told. It is along the same priciple that we should believe in God. Do you understand what I am saying???

I child is innocent of worldly sins until they know and can decifer the difference between right and wrong. Being innocent they cannot be held acountable for their sins. The bible says that all have sinned and all have fallen short of the Glory of God, but until we know that we have errored, and that we have sinned, how can we be held acountable for those sins that we have committed? By the time that you can willingly commit a sin, you should also be able to understand the idea of God and Jesus Christ, it's that simple.

From what you said, it sounds as if we are all supposed to be mindless drones that do only as we're told. That's no good.

I think it takes much more than simple belief, though belief is a start.

It depends...if you die during the day, then the "light" at the end of the tunnel will be off, and you might get lost, but if you die during the night, then no problem, just follow the light... :D

I agree with you, how can a child know better, when there isn't much to be known. Your suspicions that I'm taking "child" litterate are unnessesary, I can't make any sense from judgement based on age, but the unawareness of relevant information does. Child as in unaware in other words. I don't understand why you should believe in something because you've been told so.

No, I think billions still lack guidance, there's no general perception of right and wrong, everyone has their own individual perception and sin within their own marginals. They are certainly not aware of God and Jesus Christ, because they don't know what that means. Shouldn't they be treated like childs?

For your last question... It is simple... Jesus said that we should forgive our neighbor of all that he does against us, even if he does the same thing to us more than "seven times seventy" times, in one day, we should still forgive him. And likewise, he will forgive us in the same way...
Gods forgiveness is a full pardon, if you truly repent your sins. To repent is to turn away from them fully. He does not even remember what we've done in the past, if we ask forgiveness for it. That is where we get the term "Forgive and Forget"

About those people... No, they shouldn't be treated as children, the should be treated as the lost... It is the job of those who believe to "Go forth and make deciples of all nations, babtizing them in the name of the Father, The Son, and the Holy spirit."

If they are not spoken to, and we know of their need for Christ, then when they die, their blood and eternal punishment is on our hands. However, if we do speak to them and share the Gospel, and they still refuse to accept the truth, then it is only on their hands, and they will be punished for it...

But God will not give up on us... He sent his only son so that we may be forgiven. He loves each and every one of us, both believing and non-believing. We are his children... His creation... His true love...

Again, I apologize if what I am saying is unclear, I know in my heart what I believe, but it is so hard sometimes to make that known to other people.

The Bible is a nice book invented to keep 'The People' in line.
But even if it were true the christian religions haven't exactly stuck by it.
And don't think I'm a christian basher, muslims are as accurate in their use of the Koran.
No religion has ever followed its teaching completely, usually financial or influencial consideration are more important, then the 'right' way to do things goes out the window.

I can tell you that for me and thousands before me that follow the teachings of Jesus Christ that we have our troubles in life and we still fail to be perfect BUT we see God's plan unfolding daily for our life now and for the life hereafter. That gives me hope to carry on and do my best!

Perhaps a good example of my confidence in religion is the way RC priests have been using the "Suffer little children...." thing a little to literally of late.

Unfortunatley we as a species are flawed in the fact that we are a greedy,arogant species and religion is a very handy thing to hide under. Religion in itself hasn't caused all this problem, it's we as a human race that interpret's it that has caused all these problems.

But I am contradicting myself here as if there is no such thing as "the supreme being" then all the wars/hatred etc... is based on nothing more than an Idea.

You are absolutely right in your comments. The Bible says of the human race that "We have all fallen short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23"

yes, you can quote those passages and about the whole Eden incident is what made us the way we are. my view on the whole religion thing came up whilst having a chat with one of my cousin's who is a born again christian. we got chatting about what made him turn to belief. Turns out, that he was a car accident, and just before it occured, he had a sense that he should get ready for an impact. afterwards he thought and thought about it and the only thing that he could put it down to, was that God had warned him.

This lead on to my view of religion that it is answering one of the biggest questions man asks, "Why are we here?". it is a very convienient thing for the mind to accept and who know's, it might just be true. But at the moment I don't buy it and untill something comes along to profoundly change my view, I don't think I will ever Accept religion as an answer :)

I just wanted to comment on this, I hate to rain on your mate's parade, but I believe the best thing you can do in an impact situation is to relax - not 'be ready' for it. The more tensed up you are, the more likely you are to be injured or killed.

btw Nightstalker69, it's Adelaide in Australia you're supposed to be googling for, not the French one. They don't have a mall there, only a supermarchée. (This may take some time and babelfish to figure it out)
