If you have a version 0.2.x version, you can just press update in Fx, or you can turn the auto update on, so Fx will check for you some times....
I have 0.1.1, and it can't find any updates.
At Tools->Options->Advanced->Software Update

Auto-Updates are turned on. I even picked it and clicked update. There are no available updates for this version, I guess. I need v 2
Oh yeah. You need v0.2.x, NoteMe modified the install.rdf so that it enables auto update. Sori for the misleading.

I uninstalled the old version but didn't restart before installing the new one. Now I lost the old one, too. d'oh.
Problem? BTW you uninstalled the old one first right? When you first have the new 0.2.x version you don't have to uninstall anymore, just use the update function, and if you turn the update function to automatic, Fx will notify you when we release new versions..:)

I just found out something funny. about.xul says version 0.2.2. Hehe.
And who has made that file? And who has updated it?...hehehee..NotMe..:D...I didn't know it had a version number. Will remember to update that file too every time then. Well now I have 4 places to check for the cerson number...:D

I have removed th old Extension attachment from this thread and added the link to download from noteMe's site. I didnt want people downloading the old version and get all confused and not be able to use the auto-update.

Anyone try to install AdBlock? I downloaded 1.0.6 and then found out that AdBlock only works thru v 1.0.4 :sick:
I started with 1.0.5 and it installed fine, and upgraded to .6 and it still works.
Anybody have a clue to get it working?

How can I add a few smilies of my own? I've noticed they link to an existing attachment here on VBF. Where do the changes need to be made?
Well first you need to extract the extension. It is just a zip file renamed to xpi.
content/vbf/vbfOverlay.xul is where you put in the menu options
content/vbf/vbf.js is where you put in the code that will insert the smilie into the post
skin/classic/vbf is where you edit the css file with a class name for the smiley tht is used in the xul file mentioned above, and you put a png version of the smiley in the smilies directory
Then zip it up, rename to xpi and install.
Any special requirements regarding the PNGs? I did all as instructed in your post, but the smilies don't show up in that popup menu. Anything I might overlook?
If no one has answered this when I get back to lunch, I will do it...might happen that you have to remind me again..:D..off to meeting then lunch now...

Are you sure you wrote the right path in the vbf.css file?

BTW you can thank nebulom. I love to blame errors on other people, but this is not exactly an error, just his way of confusing fellow developers. It was the same confusion that put me and Cander out of play for a few hours too....grrr....well well..I have fixed that...but I can't get the update thingy in Fx work....grrr...does your version of Fx find the new version of the extension if you go to extensions on the tool menu and press update?
