The bigger issue is that Iraq qanted to take kuwait becuase it would control some ridiculous percentage of the worlds Oil supply. And could then become a controlling nation and sudam saw it very extravagantly "take control of worlds oil, world needs oil, will submit to my requests will be all conquering."
Naturally the us and other didnt like this idea and thought screw that hippy if he envades kuwait he's f__ked.

Basically iraq invaded because Iraq holds a large amount of the worlds oil deposits already. Kuwait also does. If Iraq tookover kuwait it would hold a pretty good percentage of the worlds oil.
And as stated by Katie industrialized nations need oil.
So Oil = power.
If Iraq managed to takeover Kuwait it would hold a lot of Power over the industrialized nations.

Absolutely, yes!!!!!! We need the F-22. Our fighter force is becoming antiquated and has been updated as much as is possible. The F-22 is an awesome platform and will keep our airmen out of harms way while providing the most technologically advanced weapons system and fighting capability. It also pays my paycheck.Quote:

Well, I don't know if we need it. :) But I am all for its development. The technologies that come from this will in turn be used in other areas. Besides, we showed in our last war that we do need to do something about the safety of our service men. We lost over 100 to friendly fire.Quote:

As to Afganistan and Pakistan... we have never tested weapons, or fired missile of any type into those countries. If you think other wise, the provide documented proof.
I will say that American manufacturers are free to sell arms to other countries (within prescribed reason). If India used American made weapons against Pakistan, well... sucks to be in Pakistan.
Also, America has supplied weapons to Afganistan rebels in the hopes of repelling Soviet troops. If you were on the receiving end of an American weapon in Afganistan, well... it is likely that you weren't supposed to be in Afganistan in the first place. ;)
Now... I DON'T WANT TO HEAR ANOTHER WORD OUT OF ANY DAMNED BODY ELSE UNLESS THEY WANT TO DO SOME RESEARCH AND PROVIDE SOME DOCUMENTATION. Or unless they want to ask for some documentation. I realize that I didn't provide any here but I'm sure I could find some. I haven't said anything here more substaintail than the grass is green. And if you want proof of that, well, too damned bad. :)

I understand this week we had the first successful test of the scramjet engine. I think it went 260'/.3s. I saw it on Slashdot.

The F-22 has much more capabilities than any previous fighter we've developed! If you want to talk about pretty, though, the SR-71 still gets my vote.:)
The JSF is the Joint Strike Fighter.....the fly off will be in October. The Boeing plane is UGLY!!!! The Lockheed plane looks like a mini-F-22 and gets my vote......not that they're asking!:rolleyes:
I saw a prototype of the Boeing JSF at the Farnborough air show last summer, and it's far from pretty. The single huge engine looks like it was just strapped onto the bottom after the rest of the plane was designed because they forgot it. It's a pretty huge behemoth of an aircraft too. Or at least it looks it close up, could be that I don't have the right sense of scale since I don't see many aircraft close up. Except helicopters, they make Apaches, Lynxes and others in the town I'm from so I see quite a lot of them.
The F-22 just has so many harse angles. I'm sure it is impressive.
I do like the SR-71s. They are pretty. But when I saw the MD-71 at the Boeing Museum, well... I was expecting something bigger.
I went on a tour of Edwards AFB in the Mojave Desert earlier this year. We saw two SR-71s, a B-2 flying, a gazillion F-16's, and one of the four (five?) F-22 prototypes. They had to take our cameras away to see the F-22, though.Quote:

Mostly. I really liked the marine attack dog unit where they train dogs to kill you. The rest of it was just looking at airplanes on airstrips, air museums, the NASA thing, and more airplanes. We stayed in these sweet townhouses, VOQ or something like that. It was all really fun, but a bit too hot to live there.

They didn't force you to eat in the mess hall did they??? I'd protest if I were you!:rolleyes: You should have gone to the Base Exchange (BX), they have a Baskin Robbins in there!
The mess hall probably seemed cheaper to them, I dunno. They'd already paid for Disneyland and Universal Studios, so it was time to make some sacrifices.:D The food was... acceptable, I suppose. We went to the BX once, to stock up on coke and junk food. Only there for 4 days, so there wasn't any point to getting more than 3-4 cases per person.
That does remind me, though, they had coffee in the mini-kitchens, we were told the base charges for that, but no one really believed them. Is that true?
