Die, Microsoft, Die!!!!!!!!!!

You hate them without any good reasons and still use their products... you DO have a choice, you know that?

I do not approve a lot of Microsoft's actions, but they made some steps which changed the world of computers in a positive way, and I can truly say: I loved Microsoft when they released Windows 2000. It's easy to use, stable, and runs all my favourite software. It's a hell of a lot more stable than other *GUI* OS's which I've tried, most of them crashed within half an hour, not to mention the crappy hardware support...



If you have good reasons to not want to use MS product, then don't. If you do, grow up, or try and make better products with the same amount of functionality!

No I'm not offended, just like a good discussion :)

Do other OS's don't have updates? Let's take for example Linux, which seems to be the other populair OS for desktop use: how many goddamn kernel releases are there? Too many to count...
Some of my friends who didn't quit school (yeah, I quit, school didn't teach me anything I didn't already know :p) still have to use Linux, they had to write a device driver for a mouse. After three weeks of struggeling with it they were told they needed to compile a new kernel, because the old one had a bug which caused the example which they got to not work correctly.

I'm taking Linux as an example here, just to show that Windows isn't the only OS with bugs. At least it has a consistent set of features (the API :)), most of them available on any Windows version.


I don't expect MS to make a perfect OS at once, I just expect them to work on it to improve it. Bugs will be there, people will find backdoors, there's no way you can prevent that, all you can do is try and find and fix them....



Hate XP though, don't have any clue why they ever thought seriously about that. :)

There is only 1 microsoft product that i actually like. That is XP, well maybe there is 2 2000 is pretty good. Anyways everything else i hate about them.

There monopoly position is drastically going down, Linux is getting more popular and with the arrival of Windows XP I have never heard that many people say it's actually worse than the previous version, so I think they'll have to reconsider their position and start working to better products (instead of fancier looks) if they want to survive on the long run...

On a sidenote: StarOffice is MS Office compatible, so there's another MS product you can throw away :)

Well xp got already a great look!!! That's very important. So you can say there aren't many improvements. Well i think there are.

I don't give a **** about what it looks like. I have the classic style so it just looks like regular windows. I like th other improvements. Like the ability to scroll up in console mode

Great look? Looks like a candy store to me, not an OS. I worked with it for 10 minutes and got annoyed with it.

Then you've got Win2K with less features, more annoying animations, a lot more requirements and even more bugs :)

Win2K can also scroll up in console mode :p



Most people which I've heard saying 'XP is great' came directly from 98 or ME, never even tried 2K. If you did and liked XP better and got a good reason, I would sure like to know :)

After installing both XP and 2K on more than 20 computers, I can say that I got more errors with XP than with 2K.


Btw, 2K/XP cannot be compared to 9x/ME, the first are based on the NT kernel, which is a lot more stable than the crappy 9x/ME kernel, so if you want to compare XP to others, first compare to 2K :)

Opera and StarOffice :p



Although I like IE 6 better, it's much more stable than 5 and support about anything you see on the web today...

So now i can take the conclusion you're not a real Mircosoft hater!!!

Me? When did I say that? I said I don't hate MS, but I don't approve all their actions either...

I downloaded Sun's StarOffice beta release (for free)...

But I don't use it...
I hardly use anything office app other than MS Word...
and that's a quality product...
