Been to hades and back, and finally got SP6 'installed', and it was a piece of cake.
It shows in the About box.
I got it via the MS (forum) web page -

There are links in MS archives, like : Vs6sp6B.exe
(not tested)
That Vs6sp68.exe is a link to the wayback machine (not a link here, but it is a link on the MS page).
When you run that, it asks for a temp folder to unpack into.
You then run setupsp6.exe
And Rob's your uncle.
