yeah - middle-europe imports with some vigourous interaction of the airmass from the North Sea.
Sunday still looks like the day when you will grow your own.
I had to learn some meteorology once in school, I found it a most anoying course, learning al those cloudformations and stuff. bleh
Quite a storm, but it could have been much worse very easily. Fortunately, it moved slightly east of the city, and downgraded to a Cat 4. On Sunday afternoon, it was the fourth strongest hurricane ever recorded with winds as high as 170 mph. The 140 mph it had at impact did plenty of damage, but it could have been worse.Quote:

hehhehheh, caught 5 monster Dungeness Crab and 10 salmon the other day. Still waiting for my wife to fry up some crab cakes.
Great, Now I'm hungry too! thanks for reminding me. :)
From my neck of the woods Dungeness is an old rickety nuclear power station. I certainly wouldn't be eating any of the crabs that live around there . . .
You should, it will give you energy
boom-boom-tchhhhhhh!
And a glowing personality. :wave:Quote:

In my opinion George W Bush is a idiot.
Guess this thread is about sea food and not GB. :DQuote:

Well, however you spell it.
Or maybe GB is selling fish? :p
Sushi, I believe.
Whatever GB is selling, it sure stinks.
Well then who is, in your own opinion, the best president we have had lately. No, not including George Washington. :D
How far back are we willing to look?
Every president that I am aware of, has done these things:
1)Publicly lied about something (assuming you include deliberately misleading as being a lie).
2) Done something really good.
3) Done something really bad.
However, I grew up around politics. Actually spent several afternoons in the statehouse listening to the debates. My mother was a legislator for three terms, and worked on her PhD in the statehouse before that. I saw a fair amount of how things can be done.
From that perspective, GWB is sub-par. He reminds me of a golfer playing a round. Whenever he walks up to the ball, no matter where it is, he thinks about it, then reaches for the pitching wedge. I can just picture him saying:
"500 yrd par-5, sloping away.....yup, time for the pitching wedge."
or
"4 foot putt, breaking left slightly....yup, time for the pitching wedge."
The thing is, occasionally the pitching wedge is the right club. He only remembers those cases.
His father had a far more nuanced grasp of politics, and was more effective in the world (though not terribly effective at home). Clinton had almost too many nuances, but served during a time of growing prosperity during which nobody wants the boat rocked.
Clinton was riding the wave that GB Sr. put into place during his term. GB jr. hasnt dont too much. Reagan had the Iran Contra scandal but did allot for our country. Carter, welll he just ate peanuts.
Carter fretted too much about everything. He was paralyzed by his own doubts. However, he has been the best ex-president we have ever had.Quote:

I feel that the people responsible for the boom were led by Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Andy Grove, you and me and the rest of the folks here. I don't think it is a coincidence that the economy boomed as computers gained a user friendly interface (windows 95. Macs don't count because they never had the market share), and www became the most common three letters in print.
Well the wave I was referring to was the policies and things that GB Sr. did during his term that didnt come to fruition until after Clinton took office and then people thought that bill was responsible. All he did was Monica and eat Big Macs.
I didn't particularly like his choices in either women or food.
Ya, I know. Why did he ever marry Hillary too?
I'll bet it was too much of that stuff that he never inhaled. Hey every Arkansas pothead politician needs a good husband. Reminds me of a moral question I was asked once.Quote:

At the same time you notice that the raging waters are about to take her under . . . forever. You have two options--you can save the life of Hillary Clinton, or you can shoot a dramatic Pulitzer Prize winning photo, documenting the death of one of the world's most powerful women.
So here's the question, and please give an honest answer. Would you select high contrast color film, or would you go with the classic simplicity of black and white?
From a political perspective, she was an excellent choice. I expect that she has furthered his political career considerably. You don't get there just by shaking hands and kissing babies, you have to be pretty tough, as well. I suspect that she is the tougher of the two.Quote:

Funnily enough, when I heard this it was about George W. Seemed to make more sense that way.Quote:

Surely he's going to be the president of Europe first.Quote:

No, it was definitely better with George W Bush, as posted here by a fantastic person....ME! :DQuote:

hey the guy who e-mailed me that crap had hillary clinton in it. Not my fault. If it was GW in the situation I would simply drop my camera and step on his head.
Where the hell are you getting hydrogen from anyway? Right now they use electricity to seperate the hydrogen from water. As for all the talk about electric cars and stuff, where the hell are you getting electricity from? From burning coal or from nuclear power plants, that's where. Some of it comes from hydroelectric dams too, but not enough of it.
Sorry, that comment was so late, but it always bothers me when people think there is some sort of magical solution for our energy problems. I pretty much think that we are screwed.
Thanks for the note of optimism, but we are talking about shellfish now :wave:Quote:
