that is true katie. my boss rang me up today, asking if I can pop in to see him on saturday to discuss terms as my fixed term contract runs out on saturday.
I hope it's good news if you have to give up a Saturday to go see the boss.
Mate, honestly, there must be better ways up the career ladder than giving your boss a blow job on a saturday when no-ones in the office.
That is what you said isn't it?
td.
I think he said
Seems he'll be bending over a desk instead.Quote:

*snort*
Paddy is up before the judge for drink driving, and the Judge asks him how does he plead.
"Your Honour, i do not recognise this Court."
"Oh" says the Judge, "and why is that" he inquires.
and Paddy says "because you've had i decorated since the last time i was here" !!!
sorry about that, you asked for bad.

Who was THAT?
I saw a picture of him once.......didn't look too well!
These things happen when you go boozing with me... :D
Long time blah blah good Xmas?
Drunken slob
Self righteous abstainer since Jan 01, Bonks? ;)
Can you please come back to London to make our skys blue again
yeah - not too bad - I turned into a mucus making machine as soon as I went home though, and am still churning out the stuff for England
New year was good, I was knocking over tables in Blackheath, whilst gyrating to tom jones (I actually thought I was Tom Jones)and generally being a p1ssed w8nker - great fun.....back to the gring now though.....
I'm doing loads of .NET at the mo, in a vain attempt to make myself marketable to the masses as contract runs out in May, and I don't think they'll extend - starting to worry early.
I'm here now boyo!
Dawm grey it is too :(
how about you layabouts - what did you get up to...
Worked my paddy ass off, unofrtunately - had 2 deliverables over the fetive season - one was 27th December, one was last Friday. Finished them, so am webbrowsing for England for a couple of days...
Snotted up myself of Xmas day - no taste of pultry until 2nd January
As for the contract, I had to write a justification for my existance on the 27th Dec. Looks like it worked as they budgetted for me until July August time...
Mate, is there much .NET work about? I only know in the City,a nd it's still mostly VB6 & big db....
Afternoon girls.
Sorry to here you had to work over the hols Gaf, then again, you do feck all the rest of the year so i reckon it's fair.
Crispin, what pub where you in Blackheath? (that's my neck of the woods).
Gaf, my place is gearing up to go heavy on .Net. They sent me on a Guerilla course in back in December - i'm a C# convert :)
td.
...thus your strange absence from VBF?:p
I'm getting heavily hacked off here, but still staying cos I've picked up some nice Oracle skills, and they pay dollar...but it is not taxing me really....
Do you think a course is necessary or a bit of hands on will do it?
when are you going to drink beer?
The course was ok - just geeked out really, 9am to 9pm solid for 5 days locked away in a hotel at deepest Sussex. The firm payed for it, so it was definately necessary ;)
td.
Beer sounds good. When you free?
td.
The course sounds good - I need a bit of that at the moment (I am getting agitated here now) - I'm hoping for a month layoff at the end of summer to do stuff lke that
I can handle either Thursday or Friday evening next week (17th or 18th)
crispin, you going to break your VBW drinking duck?
td - I was in ZeroDegrees - it was a good laugh.....from what I can remember
And as for the Guerilla course - is that Ted Pattisons one from develop.com???
I'm scheduled to go in a couple of months, is it worth the money???
And did you do the C# or VB.NET.....
(have to ask cause I don't know anyone else who has done the develop.com one)
Gaffer, i'm doing loads of hands on at the moment, and I reckon I could get by with that - it's not that complex, but i'm doing the Guerilla course for my CV mainly, develop.com are pretty hardcore.....
Yup - I am, I have nothing booked for that weekend, so i'll go out on a limb and say Friday is good for me.....
hihi, how r u lot today?
It was Guerilla .Net - all of .Net, concentrating on C# as the main language (with a glance at vb and c++).
I beleive the next residential course at Goodwood is towards the backend of Feb.
Obviously the best thing about the course is the free DevelopMentor t-shirt at the end.
The worst thing about the course was the $5 it cost for a single whiskey in the bar in the the hick hotel we were staying at.
td.
p.s. They do non-resedential courses, concentrating on just a paticular language, in Hamersmith.
I feel like something the cat borked up :o
cheers for that td.
I still think i'll go for the hick hotel bit, the standard course for vb.net is 1600 quid, so for 3k I may as well get the fully geeked out experience....
Good morning Buckaroos and Buckarettes!!!!!:)
Morning Gorgeous.
td.
I told Gary.Lowe that you weren't a Buckarette, Gaffer, he just wouldn't believe me!!!!!! Now we have proof!
Aaahh, was there a secret discussion about my gender with Gary?
I put the -ucka in Buckaroo :D
Nah, just pulled his name out of the nether regions for the hell of it! So how are you? I am one happy puppy! They finally opened up another guard station so I don't have to spend 40 minutes getting to work!!!!!!!!!!!! *katie does the happy dance*:) :) :)
*does the depressed-to-be-at-work dance*
/likes Katies happy dance :)
I'm not so good really, after spending 40 minutes on the phone to my accountants, I got them to admit they have lost about a third of 2 years worth of my company accounts.
I'm buying the house we live in at the moment, adn the LAST stage is a confimation of our salaries....which we can't get now...
Other than that, I'm healthy and doing Yoga tonight...
Don't be depressed! Just think of that big, fat paycheck you'll be getting!!!
mmm, well the cash is there, just the accounts are missing...
Aaaaaanyway, what's this about guard station? Do you mean you can do a short cut?
