Is it normal that in the TOW website in the download section I do not see button to download but only [X] because the images are not loaded ?
There are no image Icons, at least not yet. So clicking on the 'X' should solve your problem, if you are using netscrapp clicking on the torn apart picture should do.
Yea, I accidentally pointed the browser to the local file system, and since I have a local copy at the same path they showed up on my browser. Really stupid :)

i would have posted earlier but it looks as if my post on my m8's pc did not work. my computer broke on christmas eve, the registry had been broken for a ong time and finally caved in when installing kazaa, i have had to wipe stuff and reinstall windows, this has cleaned the computer so now i gotta get stuff installeed and get the visualstudio off my m8. the internet doesnt work and so i cannot get direct x 8.1 nor can i get the demo. i have not left the project i just dont know when i can get back dling the demo and direct x. were buying a new 2ghz pc in a few days,geforce 3 etc and so i will probably have to wait utill then before i can getall this **** working again. i have turd loads of homework too.
one upside is i can then network the two computers and have one as a server and one as a client to test and times of war networking stuff on. it also means i cant use the net as a destraction from homework so i should be getting it done fairly quick.
dunno when i can next post but i will let you know what is going on.

On the other hand, I have got a pretty nice thing going for the Crystal-Rain website. Once I have an admin system going I'm going to take it off the server and put the new one on. Expect this in about a week. This new one will have some better features, such as the ability to view all news/files/art posted and revise them.

Okay, here it is. If you don't have DX 8.1 (go into the run menu and type "dxdiag" without the quotes to find out) download it. Then go to our site (www.crystal-rain.com) and download it from the downloads page (accessable from the first menu). Then uninstall it and use the run menu:
"C:\path\to\divloader.exe" uidemo
Where can I download dx 8.1 and how do I uninstall then run dont forget I am only an artist.... my computer literacy is not that high.....

Go to http://www.windowsupdate.com/
Go to "Product Updates". Once loaded, look for DirectX 8.1. If you already have it you won't need to install it, and it won't be there. If you do need it, click on the checkbox, scroll to the top and click download. Don't worry if there is a dialog saying it must be installed seperately, just press okay. Once downloaded, it'll ask you to reboot. Do so and you'll be able to play Times of War!

Thanks for the skeleton and the wraith! The wraith is my favourite of the two. If it's ever not up to scratch... well, let's just suffice it to say that only the head must be up to scratch and coloured, because it will be used for the unit icons in-game. The rest will just be used as a basis for the models (and to spice up the site, manuals, guides, etc).

What do you mean how to uninstall it... you're confusing me! You have DX8.1, so just download the zip, and uncompress it to whatever location. Then make a shortcut to DivLoader.exe (right click the file and drag over the folder and release, select create shortcut), and right click it and change the properties. In the path, it should say something like C:\path\to\divloader.exe. Change it to:
"C:\path\to\divloader.exe" uidemo
That will work.
Sas, I have an idea, make a very basic, very quick vb program called "install" that will automatically do all of that, it gets a bit confusing when you have no clue whats going on... Not that i dont.
