Whoa! Not nice. Redo from start, as the old QBasic'ers would be fond of saying.
I like the old better. This has (10e99)^2 problems and its just a huge plain fricken pain in the butt.
i am a student,at my institute, they give slots to batches for accessing the net & we have to log out after that slot immediately.
but i can't find the logout hyperlink on the pages quickly. Is it secure to close the browser without logging out from the forums ?
I think it´s ok. By the way, I´ve got an idea....
An option to search for the unread posts made to the posts you have participated. Two options: my started posts and all the posts I wrote something.
If this functionality already exists, please send me a personnel message.
Thanks
One way to make it better would be to get rid of the link to this thread!!!
No! Unless of course you want anyone else who uses that machine to have your password...Quote:

To log out, open any thread and click Reply. Then click log-out which is next to your username near the top of the page. It's a pain and there really needs to be a more organised way of doing it.
Well if you turn off cookies, as soon as you close your browser your session is over...and then you have to log in....not to sure about that thou.Quote:

I'll tell you what would be good. Two links at the bottom of every post that go to the top and the bottom of the page, where the menus are. My middle finger is grey from my heavy use of the wheel on my IntelliMouse.
Hey,
Why don't you just use the "Page-Up" and "Page-Down" keys?
---> And whats happening about the vb-world logo?
---> And where is James?
~bye-bye~
:o
The only problem with the new design is that it's too Big!
The horizontal scrolling i dont like maily coz i don't have a 25 inch monitor!
Hello,
Thanks for all your comments - I've just been lurking over the last couple of weeks to get the general picture of what everyone thinks of the new design. In this post, I'll try and deal with the few main points that have arisen.
1) About.com Bar
Sadly, advertising is one of those necessary evils... and in a very weak advertising climate we have opted to sign up with a company that has the best chance of providing us with the revenue that we need to keep this site online. It ain't cheap running two dedicated servers :-) Hopefully with the increased revenues we'll be able to upgrade the servers... which leads me onto the next point:
2) Server too busy messages
The popularity of these forums has increased dramatically over the last couple of months, and the server has begun to feel the strain (as is evident by the occasional "server too busy" error at peak times). John has spent a lot of time tweaking with various configuration files on the server, and hopefully the "too busy" notices should occur a lot less frequently.
3) VB-World logo
I agree that the VB-World logo does need to be changed... it's been on my to-do list for a couple of years now! Thanks to those who have posted logo's in this thread - they look great! We'll be working to update the logo in the next few weeks.
Finally, a big "thanks" for everyone for voicing your opinions of the new design!
All the best,
James
Hey James,
Who is going to design the new logo?
Me, Me, Me!!! Pick Me!:):D:rolleyes:
They'll get someone in to do it... but make sure it's better than that ol' pixely thing :-)Quote:

They have to get someone in, just to design a logo...?
You know the BBC (British TV Channel) paid millions of £££s to designers to change their logo from:
B B C.
To:
BBC
All I have to say is: "What a rip-off."
This is true, this is true.
