Cyberwarpy your theory sucks. That means no matter what OS you hate you hate all of them, because they will all go back to Unix. I can hate Windows and like MacOS. Typical Aussie is it? Lets not go too far or you'll say if I hate Aussie's I hate everybody.
Sorry Dreamlax, I didn't quite understand a word you said (maybe its your kiwi grammer :rolleyes: )... anyway M$ or Apple products have absolutely no relation with Unix... hate to say that to you... ;)
Why would you hate Aussies? NZ practically depends on the Aussie economy to survive... who else is going to buy your beloved dairy products...?

Erm... I hate Linux, but I think Tux rules! :) Also, the 1 MEG of help files you were talking about with Windows? Why does Linux have 50 MEG then? :rolleyes:
Sorry, but I don't think any Windows <> *nix discussion makes sense, it's just what you prefer more (in my case Windows, and *nix for servers only)...

I'm sure any other person in this forum whose first language is English (or even a second language) could understand it. Also, the MacOS X runs on Unix. It says so on their web site somewhere.

they are, that's why xp is better (you can turn them off) i've turned off all stupid features, and all cool features on.
You will find you can turn them off :p They are a stupid idea for 2000server, as graphics take up 100% of CPU time :rolleyes:Quote:

alpha blended text drains some cpu too, but they're too cool to remove ;)

Well if cyberwarpy would learn to stop flaunting his same old lame opinions in everyones face every time he posts, we wouldnt have this problem. If you were to go back and look at all his posts, you would see what I mean.

However, some ppl (like this friend) get all personal about these things. I, personally, think that Microsoft needs competition, they used to come out with better atuff all the time back in the days when they were competing w/ IBM. Remember how fast DOS versions used to fly out?
The computer world needs competition as does any corporate environment. Hell, if MS were alone, they'd sit back and smoke joints rolled in $1000 bills all day. The point is, competition gives the user freedom. If and when the market does open up again, whether it would be with a LINUX desktop, another UNIX spinoff, or something totally new, we users will have the freedom to pick and choose between components, allowing us to use the best and most powerful products.
Nobody can deny that Microsoft's products over the past 5 years have been full of bugs. This is because they have the knowledge that when we don't have a choice, we take what we can get. Bill Gates is a business genius. When he bough Windows (yes, bought, he did not create it) for only thousands of dollars, he was digging a gold mine. Because of how innovative it was, he realized that we would be able to live with some bugs. He would save on development costs, and he would sell great amounts because of the ingenuity. He did not get so rich from just typing code.
So, er... what I'm trying to say, I guess... is.. uh... let's just all be friends regardless of our beliefs, k?
You are right. Its just he was very annoying to me. Besides I didnt pay attention to the dates of this thread so it threw me off. Anyway back to the smilies!!

VBForums, Internet (AP) - Top negotiator, Aaron Spetner (AKA 'Spetnik'), prevented another major battle today in what some call the brewing "Angry VB'ers War". This scuffle started in the 'New Smilies...' thread in the ChitChat forums. A user (who will remain unnamed), seeing a month old post by CyberSurfer, got upset and started namecalling. A slight intervention by Spetnik brought the user on the defensive, and caused him to reinforce his statements. Spetnik, then had no choice but to move in with more than four paragraphs (!!!) in efforts to disperse the violence. Once again (again?), he was successfull and was cheered back home by all of the americans (even some brits and aussies are reported to have shown smiles, though as usual this cannot be confirmed). When asked to comment, all he would say was, "Check out my new poetry (or lack thereof)!!!!!! (AND VOTE!!!)".
