They are also talking about going up to Gigabit connection speeds on the NBN.

Here's my results. That's way better than when I used Netzero dial up. This test was using wireless internet. There's no dsl offered where I live and there's no cable. You either have to go with dial up, satellite or wireless internet. My test here is pretty close to what they promise me. My post # 94 result was twice as fast for download because I was using an introductory offer at that time. Once it expired I moved down to the less expensive service with download speed only half as fast.

Look at akileshbc's post # 89 result and be thankful. 0.13 Mb/s download, 0.05 Mb/s upload with very high ping. akileshbc are you using dial up? The grade should go beyond F for some of the results I see. Instead of A to D and F it should use the whole alphabet.

#EntityX: No it's not a dialup connection. It's a cable connection and they said this plan will give 300kbps (My downloading speed is near to their promising speed, isn't it ? 33.1 x 8 = 264.8kbps ). The plan charge is about 11.5$ per month. Since it is an unlimited plan and the speed is somewhat okay for my needs (as I don't download any games, movies, softwares, etc..), I'm happy with it. :p
I was thinking about giving a try on Nokia's Qt development platform. But when I checked the download page, the size is more than a GB. :eek:
That would take 4 or 5 days to completely download it. So, I just dropped my interest in it. :D
I know the feeling. I used to use Netzero "HighSpeed" dial up. I posted the test for it in this thread post #41. 0.05 Mb/s download but weirdly enough my upload speed for that test was 0.27 Mb/s which isn't that much slower than what I have now and is faster than minitech's and your upload speed. And congratulations akileshbc on moving up from your post #89 grade of F to a grade of F+. :p
Your connection it says is slower than 85% of India. You can be happy about the fact that your connection is faster than almost 15% of India.

Fastest Publicly available landline Internet connection in the country. There are faster connections with HSDPA, but those are expensive and have high pings.
