Here's something i found in about 30 seconds. Deeper digging will get a more concrete statement, i am sure. And i am not basing my claim on something i read on the internet. I have seen every press conference Bush has given.

As for the Kicking Saddam out of power, i Apologize, that was in error. That was a sanction specifically from the United States, which believed the sanctions would have no effect while Hussein remained in power.

Saddam knew damn well the UN didn't (and never would) have the balls to do anything about it but pass more laughable toothless resolutions.

Actually, there was never any need for this to be true, so the fact that people came up with it in the abscence of evidence is interesting.

The WMD in question has a shelf life of about 5 years, so Saddam would not have needed to stockpile it, he would have needed to keep producing it. In the ten years of the sanctions, everything he currently had degraded away and was discarded. He had no reason to make more, as he had no realistic need for it before the new stuff also degraded.

Thus there was some at one point, but there wasn't anything to move anywhere by the time of the invasion. Saddam was a toothless tiger contained cheaply and easily, and could have remained so for decades.

That is correct. All i can say is this: Bush isn't the worst president we've ever had. That honor belongs to the grandfather of his mom.
