Internet course signs up 107-year-old
A 107-year-old woman has signed up for computer lessons so she can learn how to surf the world wide web.
Janet Thorpe, who lives in a residential home in Swinton, South Yorkshire, is believed to be one of the oldest internet users in the country.
She is one of a group of mature students who has signed up for the course, which is backed by Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council.
The course, called MaturITy, is open to residents in old people's homes in Rotherham and teaches elderly people basic computer skills.
A spokeswoman for the council said: "The course helps them surf the internet as part of a council-backed project to boost computer skills among elderly people.
"At 107 I don't think she is doing badly and at that age she must be one of the oldest in the country to surf the net."
Man phones police when prostitute says he's taken too long
An Italian man complained to police on his mobile when a prostitute told him he'd taken too long to have sex.
The prostitute told the 30-year-old from Pederobba he'd used up his 20 minutes.
He complained that he had already paid her and that he hadn't finished. Police charged him with indecent exposure.
According to La Tribuna di Treviso the prostitute told him she "didn't have that much time to devote to every customer".
The paper says he asked officers to convince her to allow him to carry on their session.
Bin Laden loo roll 'air drop' planned
A Michigan company plans to air drop loo rolls poking fun at Osama bin Laden into Afghanistan.
America Wins is also selling the rolls, featuring four cartoons of bin Laden, on its website for the equivalent of £3 each.
It hopes they will raise a smile and allow people to take out some of their frustration on bin Laden's likeness.
A spokesman said: "From a portion of sale proceeds, America Wins intends to air drop thousands of rolls of the bin Laden toilet paper into Afghanistan to help wipe out terrorism.
"The company hopes this effort will urge the people of Afghanistan to relieve themselves of Osama bin Laden."
The company says it will also put some of the profits into a fund for the victims of the terrorist attacks.
Another company, Designer Bathroom Tissue, is also selling Osama bin Laden loo roll, this time bearing a photograph of him and the words "Wipe out Bin Laden".
