Re: Post Race!
The Midwest sucks. It's a weather form of Russian roulette. It's not a question of IF you will be hit by a severe storm, it's a question of when, and possibly how bad it will be. I dodged one yesterday when I happened to end up in a hotel. Had I been camping, it might not have gone well. The place I was camping the day before got clobbered, yesterday, and I had no real warning about it based on the weather forecast. The forecast is generally just saying, "bad storms will probably show up...somewhere. They are likely to have damaging winds, possibly large hail, and a small chance of a tornado."
It was raining hard when I got up this morning, rained for a couple hours, and now the sun is out...with a chance of more storms developing later on today. I opted to take the day off, since I will be camping for the next couple of days once I leave here. Saturday and Sunday look better than today.

Re: Post Race!
Yeah, my mom lived in OK and I was always amazed how fast storms came and went. We could be getting ready to grill and all of a sudden a storm would hit and you have to go into the house. Then ten minutes later you would be back outside grilling. She lived in a trailer house for a long time and some of the storms would shake the house around. It didn't bother her but it unnerved me and kids.
