Go on then, list the tariffs that Canada had on USA imports that Trump is reciprocating. Also, imposing tariffs on Canadian imports will hurt Canada, but it will also hurt America as well.

This is a smart move by Ukraine, I think. They need to buy as much time as possible while Europe gears up to start supplying more of their needs.

I'm curious if Russia rejects the cease fire, which country is Trump going to blame for not wanting peace. My guess he'll still be on his good friend Putin's side. Trying to force Ukraine to give part of their county to Russia. Even with all the negative backlash he got from saying Ukraine started the war, I don't think he has the courage to stand up to Putin. I hope he proves me wrong.

Actually, I'd like to here about those tariff imbalances too. I've never looked into it, so please explain.
Edit:
I found this article. I don't know anything about the news source.
https://thefulcrum.us/business-democ...tariffs-canada
It seems there have been on going tariffs but most were more formally agreed upon and considered mutually beneficial. Things like NAFTA.

Also did Ukraine decided out of the blue? No, after Zely did the badfass on Trump he crawled back crying. So it's smart move before they get demolished as the US help stopped and Europe can only offer hopes and dreams.

Yeah, that might be stretching a bit far. I was trying to come up with some elemental puns, but something like dysprosium just doesn't lend itself to humor...aside from the name itself, which is kind of funny. Most elemental names just don't have multiple meanings....and steel isn't even an element.
So, I was trying to forge some puns to steel the show, but I lacked the metal to do so. Even puns about aluminum had me foiled. Tin foiled me, too. I find that very ironic.
-
Re: Post election prediction
And here is the language gap, as dysprosium comes from Greek dysprositos meaning hard to reach hard to acquire. There is nothing funny about the word except the small "butchering" in English from Latin. I guess in a more appropriate naming would be dysprosito (without 's') or dysposite like stalagmite , dynamite etc but yeah the just thought just migrate the Latin deviation without even trying.
I like the steel variations to, they are pure gold. :p

Re: Post election prediction
Given Sapator's musical tastes I suspect a Priest would be able to explain it to you. Though that would be British Steel, rather than UK.

The US hasn't had a strong, serious leader in a long time. The Democrats made the US into a circus over the last 4 years and Trump is reminding the world that the US is still the US, the richest and most powerful nation on Earth, not one to be trifled with.

Trump is trashing the economy, alienating all of USA's allies, being completely undecided on Tariffs (constantly threatening them, sort of enforcing them, and then removing them), threating Greenland and Canada, sucking up to Putin, spews a constant stream of lies and misinformation, put Musk and DOGE in charge of trashing the government infrastructure, then decided Musk wasn't in charge and had no authority, he is also a convicted sex offender, and a convicted fraudster, he is making USA a laughing stock, a completely unreliable trade partner, and no longer an ally on the political stage.
Yet the Democrats made it into a circus?

Or perhaps he thought the USA would uphold the agreement it made to defend Ukraine when Ukraine gave up it's nuclear weapons. I know - imagine Trump sticking to any agreement!

Maybe but reading the comment of YT that it's not really a Rightist nest , I don't see that argument.

Trump, Vance, and the assorted Republicans decided to make a public showing of what should have been a private negotiation (after all Putin didn't get dragged onto a TV show as part of his negotiations with Trump)
The proceeded to criticise Zelenskyy for not wearing a suit (yet it is okay for Musk to be in the Oval office without one)
They then proceeded to pretty much shout Zelenskyy down, accuse him of not wanting peace (simply because he didn't want to give up his country to Russia).
They then decided he hadn't said "thank you" enough for all the help - another attempt to humiliate and belittle him on the world stage.
I would have done the same as her if I saw my leader being treated so poorly on TV.
-
Re: Post election prediction
OK your opinion is noted, most of the comments do not say that but other views are allowed of course. In the end by your view, Zelly gave rage away and struck a deal after those bad people called him off.
My opinion is written above. We are waiting for Russia now...

Re: Post election prediction

Yeah, that was a particularly choice part of the whole exchange. I suggest people watch the full interview. "Thank you" are literally the first two words that Zelensky said.
And I'm still waiting for Vance to thank Zelensky for Ukraine's support in Afghanistan and Iraq. Anyone want to show me the clip of that? Anyone? Anyone at all?
Quote:

The Ukranians felt the same way. Zelensky got a 10 point point bounce off the back of that interview to just under 70%.
What's Trump's approval rating again? Oh... Oh dear.... Second worst in history. Second only to.... himself, first term. And that's from before he crashed the economy.

I hate to be the one to break it to you again but EU will not do a god damn thing and Hungary veto anyhow.

Re: Post election prediction
It's way too soon to say what is happening. The only thing that is clear is that Trump is chaos incarnate. There was no deal, then there was a deal, but once the text was released...it wasn't really a deal, and then there was a meeting that would have forged a deal, but that was a disaster, so there was no deal, and then aid was withdrawn, then aid was resumed...and all of that was in perhaps two weeks?
To say that there is an agreement would be premature.

Don't forget he also called Zelenskyy a Dictator, lied about how much the US had spent on the war, ( https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldT...31332924234939 ) and then denied saying it a couple of days later ( https://twitter.com/i/status/1895188117038211256 )

True Even if there was an agreement, that could change quickly.

The UK and the EU have already done a tremendous amount for Ukraine. I don't see any signs of that stopping.
You seem to think that the Ukrainians should give Russia a large part of their country so the war would stop. That's their choice but I certainly don't fault them for wanting to protect their country from the invading Russian army.
-
Re: Post election prediction
Yeah, immediate surrender is always a way to avoid war. The outcome is often not very desirable, though.

So I am assuming you don't believe it is true by that statement...
What was so bad about the Democrats then? The fact they left a strong economy? The fact they didn't suck up to Putin? The way they didn't start trade wars with all of their allies? Their failure to suggest taking over Canada, Greenland, and Panama?

Whether it's true or not isn't part of his equation.

Re: Post election prediction
I've been seeing this story for a while now. https://currently.att.yahoo.com/fina...153857224.html
Lowering taxes always sounds great. But raising our debt ceiling $4 trillion, how does that help the stability of our country.
I already see our countries debt as a threat to our stability. So far is hasn't hurt us. I wonder how much debt is to much.

Re: Post election prediction
This is hardly unique to the US. You can find the same winds of change within Canada, UK, Germany, Australia, and elsewhere. The only real difference is that their convoluted governing structures are designed to minimize the impact of what the people want. They are far less democratic in nearly every sense of the word.

Re: Post election prediction
Putin's response was pretty predictable.
"We want peace BUT ....... "
Overall I think Ukraine being the first to offer a cease fire has worked out well for them. They got the US support back. For now.

"For now" is the operational phrase. The next person that has Trump's ear before anything important will be the next policy. There is a HUGE chance, our next US policy, will come from FOX news"

I'm not so sure. Trump has been notably silent since Putin's response and, given his previous positions, I suspect he may simply agree to Putin's demands no matter how unrealistic. At that point he will go back to painting Zelensky as the aggressor. I hope you're right but I fear you're not.

US support of supplies and intelligence has restarted. I have no idea for how long. I have no confidence in Trump maintaining his current position. I think restarting the support was just a way to stop all the negative backlash from his previous actions.

Yeah, he seems to be doing a lot of that at the moment. I'm pretty sure the flip flopping on tariffs is much the same. He keeps loading them on, the stock market tanks, his oligarchs pressure him to stop, he folds faster than Superman on laundry day and takes them back off again.
His comments on Greenland today were particularly unhinged. I think he actually believes that, if he invades, NATO would back him.
