How are you doing?
Yep! You missed a lot!!!! Gald you're back, though!
well, i've been on the forums, but not been in CHit-CHat for awhile.
I just called my house to remind my son about something......bear in mind it's 1:26 here.........and EVERYONE was still asleep!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! Life is most definitely NOT fair!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When I called Best Buy on wednesday they said that I may be able to work there if I was under 16 and had a work permit from the school... But I went today and they said I had to be at least 17 to work there  those mother ****ers had my hopes up and wasted almost two hours of time that I could have spent looking for other jobs :mad::mad:
I feel the pain brotha... im 14 and no one will *****in hire a 14 year old, especially as a programmer. I get odd jobs to program now and then, but nothing big. The most i have gotten paid for an odd job is like 50 bucks for a catalogue database system for my friends grandpa's junkyard, and i wanted to do that for free anyway....Quote:

That is a shame, Dennis.....but hang in there! Time goes by fast enough....enjoy you leisure while you can........just don't sleep your life away as it tends to piss off those of us who do have to work for a living!;)
yeah, but you people who work your day away piss us people off who sleep it away.
I wanted to get a job because I have absolutely nothing else to do... I don't have a girlfriend... Not many friends(all the kids in school that I know are complete morons, I don't want to hang out with them... )... If I didn't go to Best Buy for the interview today, I probably wouldn't have had a reason to leave the house... I guess I'll try to enjoy myself... But it's hard when you have absolutely nothing that needs to be done... :o
Summer is almost over and then you will have plenty to do, Dennis. Until then, try to hang in there! :)
yeah... i have 3 study halls once school starts (a real study hall, keyboarding, and microsh*t applications) but i need to pass them to get into the C++ class in 10th (usually i can only do it in 11th) so i guess i won't ***** cuz their easy grades anyway. Why do they think a person that programs doesn't know how to type or use windows??
I'm taking (I'll be a high school senior, thank god, it took long enough):
- Television Production II :)
- Calculus :(
- Physics :(
- Intern/Mentorship :D :D (more below)
- Astronomy  (dunno)
- Java :)
- English :(
For the I/M, I get to leave school at 12:30 and go to my office at work! Yeah! That kicks ass, doesn't it!?
Life is boring as ****e when you're at home with no job.
Programming for yourself when you could be getting paid :(
Yep...a real bummer!;)Quote:

Maybe you should report it to John............................not!
Hmm...maybe a new tag: [porn][/porn] which runs it through the pornolizer :D
Well...my hedonistic lifestyle has finally caught up with me. I have bags under my eyes larger than kovan's ego, so I'm outta here :)
Night all!
Good night Cutie..........have a great weekend!
Bye Mike, and BTW, nice post count. You finally broke the halfway to 10000 limit! :)
only me :)

So glad you're here, Ian!
good evening katie, not long for your weekend to start :)
30 minutes more and I'm footloose and fancy free!!!:D
That's good to hear. I'm trying to have a quite weekend this one, as it's my brothers birthday is next weekend so all hell is prbably going to break lose :) probably take in planet of the apes tommorow night :)
I really enjoyed Planet of the Apes! The premise was totally unbelievable but that aside it was very entertaining!
The original film was an absolute classsic, especially the way they included the political affairs of the time into it :)
I hope you enjoy it!
a film by Tim Burton with a $75 Million budget should be good. He's a bloody good director IMO :)
That's enough for me for one day! You all have lovely weekends. Don't get into any trouble you can't get out of by Monday morning!

Good Night Katie :D
Morning again...
Unfortunately we're too early
So it seems.
Well, I'm going back to my unlikely-to-die c++...
I'm kinda scared, I don't want C++ to die :(
C++ may have a rough patch ahead, but C isn't going for a long time.
That doesn't help my situation, i'm not going down to C.
Why not? Other than the obvious reasons ;)
I use both C and C++ for different things.
The obvious reasons are important, at least for me.
Furry muff then :)
Furry muff? :) I don't get it
You don't get furry muff? No wonder you keep wondering what the meaning of life is...
It's rhyming slang: Furry muff == Fair enough :)
Ah, so that's what the meaning of life is - Furry muff :)
I've just got Win 2000 and I love it...hasn't crashed yet, all hardware got installed correctly, no driver problems at all. I didn't need any driver disks!
If you don't have it, buy it now!! I take back everything bitching I ever said about MS...
I couldn't use my printer or my scanner with it.....
I love Win2k otherwise, so I guess I'm going to have to get a new printer and scanner :(
Not that many people in Chit Chat today.
tis saturday, not many people on the boards
Damn, that's not good. But scanners are dirt cheap these days which is good.Quote:

Not filb, but then it is saturday.
I'm still bitching about Win2K
why? it rulez!
Well the fact that it won't even install on my computer doesn't help...
Although when you've got compatible hardware, yeah, it rocks :) (I use it across the room but that's a bit pointless considering the computer with the hi-fi and the modem and the fast processor is over here)
It has to be said I had a bit of a bad time just getting it to install. The Win9x setups work in "DOS" mode, from a bootable disk. But the win2k setup doesn't. I eventually tried makeboot.exe which made 4 special bootdisks, but there is absolutely no mention of it in the installation book...it just says "Insert CD and Windows 2000 Setup should run". I was like..."err, how does it do that with a blank HDD?!"
It's a bootable CD - you need to set your BIOS to boot from it though. Mine also came with a set of boot floppies in case the BIOS didn't support booting from CD.
I have yet to see a legitimate Windows 2000 CD. And yes, I am running Windows 2000. ;)
They're very pretty - they have a nice hologram on them :)
It's actually full-colour in the right light, which is a way cool effect :D
