OK, attached is a new copy of the Sentience launcher. Just copy this over your old Sentience.exe - this should solve you problems, if not, let me know (and attach a screenshot :rolleyes:)
Apologies, Sas. I haven't got around to updating my sig. perhaps it would be wise if I removed the link altogether...

I was talking to Behemoth online, and he said this too. Helps a great deal. Now, I went in and enabled the sound. I then saved; bombed out with Error 9. Gives me error 13 now every time I try to go in...
I still get the run time error. As you can see, I am running under XP with admin previliges. I have switched my FS to NTFS and compressed the drive.

Switching FS will make no difference. My dev machine is NTFS also.

So it's working ok now is it?
Until I start a game. I had the res set to 1280x1024, and I attemted to start a game and got the error that is attached.
Also, when I ran sentice from the launcher, the res changed to 800x600, then when I started the game (pressed OK on the last screen of the new game), it changed to 1280x1024. Seems odd to me.
By start a game (in the first set), I mean pressed OK on the next player screen, the second set I mean pressed OK on the last screen of the new game and it finished making the map.
The res will remain at 800x600 until the game starts.
You didn't go with a small map did you?
Set your map to 100x100 and run the game again at 1280x1024.
Oh and Gaming, when you take a screenshot - it's the background I'm interested in - not the actual error dialog box itself..... ;)

The new version worked without sound, when i tried to activate sound i got a type mismatch error.
And now when trying to start Sentience, i also get the error.

Well, I have 2 bugs. The map size was 111x117 (i think)
1) The mech displayed as a black box.
2) When I resigned, I got an error as it was loading the main screen. The background was only about 1/4 loaded. I got most of the bottom, and little of the top.
I couldn't take a screen shot of the second error (as I had already taken one of the first), but it deleted the first one.
Not that I'm impatient or anything!!! How long does it take to load - I've been staring at the 'Launching game' splash for about 5 mins

After it displays the 'Launching game' notice, it generally takes several seconds to launch the game.
The only thing I can think of is that it errored at the launching game part and the error was hidden behind the splash screen - but I've never heard of it erroring there before...
In order to get thus far I imagine you got the latest launcher from the post that says "Behemoth, for you"?
Is the hard drive going like the clappers or is it silent? Do you have 8 billion programs running in the background, or is it run from a clean boot?

There are minor issues with the screen update I have yet to address...
There should be no problems when you resign and start a new game, but it occaisionally happens. If you could take a screen print of the second error I'd be most grateful.... :)
I recall that I got the same error from launching sentince directly (no launcher) in the latest verson. Well it stoped at updating core files. And it now just loads the splash, then stops.
That is unless I use the launcher.
And if you use the launcher it works ok right?

There should be no issues with regards to Sentience failing to start.
If this is the case then what comments do people have about how cool that game is? :D
I can only run it some of the time (1% at most). When I run the game (though the launcher), it will stop loading as soon as the splash screen comes up.

There was a patch for it (attached to this post).
Download the attached Sentience.zip and replace the old launcher (Sentience.exe) with the one in the zip.
The game should now work. I've not been able to upload it to the website yet as I'm having connection problems at home.
If the launcher contained within this doesn't work then please let me know as it should be 100% fixed now... :)
ok I will test it and I will give you some news.
All stuff is loading but I have after all the loading a MSG box about : "Can not make a autodraw picture" or something like that :(

That's normally caused by the amount of stuff you have loaded at the time.
If you're trying to run Sentience with 6 IDE's open, 42 copies of IE, MS Office 3000 Memory Hungry Edition on a machine that's never been restarted since the day it was born, then it's likely to give that error message.
Restart the machine and close down all the programs in the background and Sentience will work fine... :)
