NoteMe: We just got given a DirectDraw Wrapper at Uni today, pretty Basic but I think I'll be pulling it apart to help me once I start the conversion :D.

Yeah for everyone else don't avoid doing a DirectX tutorials just cos I'm doing an engine, it probably won't make too much sense to anyone new to DirectX.

I was just wondering if he'd looked at it before cos their tutorials ask whether you want to use full screen or not. And I haven't really seen it anywhere else, didn't mean to accuse you of not writing it. It has VB examples as well but I've never looked at them.

Yeah I have meetings at all weird times....got home 23:30...:D....and then it was homework. I probably have one hour or so later today to start on it. Hope I get a hole bit of it done.

So you have compiler construction. That sounds fun. Are it all theoritical or is it some programming too? ASM?

And you are starting a new period...:D....didn't know you wher a girl...:D

Yeah we have to construct compilers from scratch, I've been waiting two years to take this course and now when i'm taking it i'm almost neglecting it.. yeah its quite theoretical, but you get to write it too but its done in java :rolleyes:

Line 119 gave me an out of range error. It was a loop, so it is probably no that big issue. Just don't have the guts to dig into that code right now...I am pretty empty in my head now. HAvn't slept all night and that FAQ took the rest of my energy out...:d

Hehe....OK I looked at it. And becuase of the size of the image it looks like you can't do this:

For i = 0 To UBound(pic, 1) - 1 Step 3

Step 3 will make it fo out and only -1 will somehow make it go out of the range...Not 100% why....but changing it to -2 will help, but then you are not getting the last pixel column. But since you are stepping 3 you have to do it...or you will step out of it...:(

Yeah it is the DMA thingy. What was the error? I know sometimes it decides to mess up the range but i can't figure it out, It seems to happen with certain size pictures, thort I'd fixed it :confused:. You need windows to be in 24bit, or 32bit for it to work.

BTW I think I just crashed my Webserver so the link might be dead for a short while, opps.

Hehe...yeah it makes a lot of memory errors when it craches. It is a range error in the width of the picture somehow....can't see the error....:(

Did you change the picture or use the same ones that came with it? I've tested it with the ones that come with it, so could I use the pic you used just to see if I can find out whats up?

Hehe...I thought I had it on 24bit, but must have forgotten to change it after I fomated my HD. Did set it to 32bit now...and it worked like a charm...:D...will add both that and Luckys page to the FAQ....thanks

It would be NoteMe's tutorial, the 's can mean either "is" or represent "owns"/"belongs to".
