I was explaining to everyone how I got hammered with td a fortnight agao, and the supreme after-beer food the Kebab (Kebabicus Delishicus) naturally got mentioned.

Hehehe good try Gaffer...however, I don't think that Kebabs would be nearly as popular if they were truly made of "snake" meat.....not to mention finding enough to feed the masses....

Do you remember when they refurbished the bar in the old union? They got rid of the old brown chairs and sricky carpet and turned it into a wine bar sort of place. It was sacriledge. I went back last year to have a look around and it's gone all posh.

I studied Genetics, then made the natural progression to Visual Basic (heheheh)
I remember the Liver Bar, with superb Chicken Tikka Jacket poatos for 60p
And I'd STILL have change for the bus home. You could leave your front door open back then..........

Trop Med was good for food too. They had a proper chef who did mean chillis and curries.
As for leaving your door open ... it IS Liverpool we're talking about. A friend left her door open when she was moving her stuff into a shared house and a thief walked in (they thought it was a housemate's boyfriend of the week) and cleared the place out. The next term the same things happened.
I miss all that cheap beer though.
That's a flocking terrible suggestion! Do you know the ram-ifications of that statement. Ewe ought to be ashamed of yourself...

I've never tried kebabs before....or really never heard of them before entering this site....but I'm sure I want to try them now!!
We brits have a habit of taking a foodstuff to a new level of status. Curries are (un)officially our national dish. Noone has fish and chips after beer any more - it a kebeb. As for trying one, I could Fedex one over to you...
The taste really good in the morning, microwaved, especially after a heavy night on the suace...
Sound good.... send it on over.....Ian promised me some Winter Warmer to be FedExed and the darned stuff never showed up....I wonder why?
Is that a sherry? He probably drank it then.

Winter Warmer is a bitter (as is Badger's Scrotum) - Real Ale (as It is more commonly know to people who nurture beards and wear sandals) takes very much like 7-day old milk...

For Barrk's info I guess kebabs come in two main sorts -
Shish Kebabs that are relatively healthy looking cubes of meat/onion/pepper on a skewer cooked over an open flame
OR
Doner kebabs (Donor kebabs we used to call them) are more like a dog on a stick - minced scraps, fat, gristle, ears, trouser-snakes, compressed into a barrel of amorphous white streaked brown which is grilled on a rotating spit with sections cut off and placed (with fiery pepper sauce) in a bit of unleven bread.
I guess we are all thinking of the latter here (yum yum!)

I've eaten Shish Kebabs....cooked them too! They are great......Never tried donor kebabs...don't even know if I can find them here....but I'm all for giving them a try if I ever find them..

Nice visual.....and correct too. The Right Stuff was filmed out here....we do a lot of outdoor cooking...and beer drinking!
My oldest daughter (four years old in April) is going to be very impressed! She is very keen on "rocket airplanes" She was overawed that I was talking to a "viking who lives on a volcano" last week by e-mail (actually a web designer who lives in Iceland but he told me to give her the quoted description) - now a lady who lives in the desert and who might know about rocket airplanes - ! ;)

I'll show her it. She is going to ask it its sub-orbital I'm sure - since she is very keen on the X-15 I took the to Duxford and showed her the Blue Steel missile under the Vulcan there (best we can do over here I'm afraid). She looked at it for a couple of minutes and then asked if it could go into space. She was most dissapointed that it could not! (With this kid she was willing to accept that the meat in her dinner was fuel but the only way I could get her to eat her peas was to say that they are "oxidiser")
Anyway have to go - the kids are telling me its time for Robot Wars and that there is Chilli for dinner (topical!!)!

yeah, absolutley fine. I got dumped out of the job in paddington, as they didn't have any work for me to do. I was most happy because I am now doing an in-house project for the umbrella company I work for. This is great as our offices are here in hastings so no travelling to do for a while :)
