Since when are pointless posts such a nuisance? You know, this used to be a fun place (read: before the take over) to while away the dreary, dull moments on the job, have a bit of banter and harmless fun online, now you're suffocating it with these new rules.

Solution? Everyone that wants to make rhyming threads and discuss poo, post it at chitchatforums.com, everyone that want to discuss serious topics post on VBF, then we get this forum cleaned up. Or what?

I agree with Cander on virus writers. Of course we will report them but its so much more fun taking the micky.

Take a look at this example here: link . Marty bans wossname for 24 hours for the use of "***". Ridiculous. There is a gray area. Perhaps the mods need to be told that as well?

*** happens to be part of the Internet lingo. Things like this just don't 'go away'. What about LMFAO or LMAO? These are extremely common.

VBF is not an over 18 site. A 6 year old should be able to visit and browse without coming across certain posts.

You can take the mick out of someone without the use of swear words, or being rude. Alas, this can only be applied to UK people since Americans do not get sarcasm or satire :D Anyways, my point is that, at the end of the day, there is no REAL need for bad language.

Virus Writers...Hmmm...I am sure a lot of you are quite capable of tracing their IP etc, finding where they live, flying there, and breaking their legs...still no need to lay into them on VBF...but if you do, then this can be done very tactfully....the use of :rolleyes: sez a 1000 words.

A lot of users spend more time here in chit chat than they do answering, or posting, relevant VB questions. Isn't www.chitchatforums.com the ideal home for this like that mad Norwegian mentioned.

Most of the threads posted in chit-chat are utter rubbish, and are posted by people who have WAY too much time on their hands.

To be a successful site, and I'm sure you ALL want VBF to be that, it has to be consistant across ALL forums and threads. Rules are here for a reason, I know, some of them suck and all rules cannot please all users. That's just life. Deal with it.

You also have to remember that this doesn't stop with Brad. he has superiors, he himself also has to obey orders and pass them down to use, regardless if he agrees with them or not.
VBF is a priveladge, not a right.

It could compile a list of all users who profaned in any given day, then randomly ban 5% of them, wether they were serious or goofing around.

You HAVE to be kidding. America has stolen and perverted EVERY funny thing that has ever come out of Great Britain! Every time you blokes come up with some funny thing on TV, you can bet that it will show up in an Americanized version that will be similar to, but not quite as funny as, the original.

I don't think we've ever come close to Monty Python.

Id say Kids in the Hall comes VERY close to Monty Python as far as pushing the edge of comedy at the time and the very simliar styles, but that's Canadian.

We have actually had many brilliant sketch comedy style shows, but the really good ones never get the exposure they deserve and die off.

Wossy must take responsibility for his actions, even if they affect other people.

Oh and by the way, wossy just told be he has fixed an overflow bug in the graph plotter (not part of your trend engine though ;)) and has completely restructured the graphic engine. Now it runs a bit faster and redraws better. He'll get back to you later with an update. :thumb:
