Trundle is a top word...
All Hail Trundle!
Yay!
:D
You must promise to use 'Trundle' in conversation at least 5 times tomorrow (well today for you!;))
/trundles off to use the word 'trundle' in some conversation.
Wow! 2 down already! :D
How about this thread gets deleted?
:p
That would be amusing :D say it was cluttering the db or something :)Quote:

Perhaps a new rules should be instated:
Thou shall keep thy religion to thyself!
I reckon what's funny is that no matter how many people and how many times you've been told to piss off elsewhere with your propagandering, you still think that anyone on a professional development board gives two hoots about your version of god... :confused:Quote:

Very strange behavior mods!
Or that, despite that, anyone would care if you were moderated back to the stone age...
:D Hoot. That is funny.
:)
And tell me - what happened to El Diablo on your bible site? He got toally deleted not just moderated... :grrr:
Same with Jesus and God. Man, you are tough.
:D
Funniest thing is that i wrote an assignment for my studies of religion class, it outlined all the contradictions in the quaran also, and it *mysterious* disappeared... I just got an estimate

How are you i missed you?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:)
Technically, J4U is correct.
Practically, he's not.
:)
I have to say I am on Jesus4U's side on this:confused:
It sais "Chit Chat", not "Chit Chat" - Religion.
And Wally....... the green multilimbed squid god "Iavntgottaclu" is actually a multilimbed Monkey God and his name is not "Iavntgottaclu" it is "Jeremy".
All of you.........on your knees to Jeremy the great Monkey God.
http://www.vbforums.com/images/ieimages/2002/10/7.gif Religion alert...Religion Alert. Please evacuate the thread http://www.vbforums.com/images/ieimages/2002/10/7.gif
this sort of thing irks me. I've sent him a PM.
Oh, and hi BG/Masterblaster. :)Quote:
Funny how you're prepared to open a big can of worms, start an argument, and then vanish. Your attitude strikes me as very immature. If you can explain calmly and politely in a logical fashion (and hey, you're a programmer - it can't be that hard), you'd get a lot more support.
Pretty good. You're rarely around anymore!Quote:

How are you and your Mom doing?
OK after reading this thread, skipping many on the way; here is what I have to say...
Firstly religion is like a shirt... If you like it then you wear it. If you like a religion and think it is correct, then follow it.
Secondly, it is not good manners and first rule of influencing people to talk about politics & religion
Thirdly,
For the muslims... there is a chapter in the Quran, which says, let those who follow their religion go their way and you go your way. ie... DON'T interfere in other's religious activities. So if you really believe the Quran don't post religious.
For the non-muslims, instead of posting, why don't you go to Islamic research groups, whoes members might spend the whole day debating on a topic if you are confused.
Lastly VB Forums suggests you to post a thread with an appropriate Subject. I don't think so for this thread !
Also I think this thread should be deleted and a rule should be imposed that, no religious thread should be created. If anyone does, they should be thrown out of VBF and they should not be allowed to register again, by checking their IP.

that used to be in my signature..Quote:

Well, I'm with Jesus4u on this one. The thread that was deleted sounds different from many of J4u other threads because it actually had some content and a point for discussion. Also, there have been many threads like that before so I don't see why that was singled out.
I'm not suprised that j4u feels unfairly moderated on this particular issue but I guess he's brought it upon himself by posting so many "empty" threads in the past.
I think all religious threads should be deleted
Jungle-Man, I think all posts that demonstrate an inability to contribute to a sensible discussion should be deleted from religous threads.
Many people are capable of discussing religion without resorting to personal insults and this is usually ruined by one or two individuals.
Wouldn't it be better to moderate the individual posts that would degrade the quality of discussion rather than simply deleting the whole thread in case it might degenerate? But I guess that's a lot harder for the moderator as they would have to follow the discussion.
Simon, to generalize and cut a snippet from your point, I do agree that threads should be followed, and not just removed "in-case".
But, to date I've always seen Jesus4u's threads turning into huge arguments.
I don't remember ever seeing one that hasn't.
So in my mind I might equate this to the protests in Northern Ireland.
Groups are not allowed to march through certain areas of the cities, simply because its a protestant or catholic area, and there might be violence.
Granted, there may not be violence, things might go to plan, but someone has to make the call of whether to pre-emptively stop the violence or not.
That then in turn would bring into question the idea of pre-emptive actions.
Normally I wouldn't agree with pre-emptive things, like in the case of Bush V Saddam.
I don't agree there - because we don't have the proof.
But going by a huge amount of past experience, I feel that pre-emptive action is justified.
I reckon threads where people who are intending to be malicious against others should be deleted as a matter of course. :)
With the exception of fanatics like J4U, who should be flushed down the nearest convienient toilet
btw - if the devil's so bad, why do so many people murder in the name of God?
basically it comes down to the fact that no one cares what J4 has to say... but he says it anyway.. and that pisses people off.. if you don't like what J4 has put in the forum... ummm don't read it.. don't respond to it.. because that ends up being a thread like this one.. where in the end.. we all still have the same opinions we did before.. if you think the thread is truly offensive (not just biased) then report it to a moderator who in the end has final say over the thread anyway...
may I butt in and propose an excellent site:
www.bangbus.com
And yeah, that's breaking rule number 3 i think.
My point is that plenderj and the other mods/admins should get together and layout a set of rules for Chit Chat giving certain tolerance to certain types of threads while 0% tolerance to other types. Then everyone would know exactly what is wrong or right. Plus, those rules should then strictly be implemented by the administration team. From what I know, VBF has the most liberal moderation team that ever existed. But of course, being liberal means that everyone here has way more fun than on other boards so that would surely be a sacrifice.
Well there already is an acceptable usage policy for VBF that everyone must accept before joining...
your point J4u?
Jamie
An argument in it's self is not necessarilly bad. If you regularly start threads on contraversial topics (like religion), then they are bound to become argumentative.Quote:

However, I have never seend J4U become abusive. He has endured countless insults but has never been drawn into a flame war himself.
If certain individuals cannot refrain from contributing to such threads in an abusive manner, why should j4u be penalised for this?
By actually starting a relgious thread that had content and a discussion point, as opposed the usual spamming, I believe he should be rewarded by not having his thread instantly deleted.
However, I realise that it is your decision at the end of the day. I am just voicing my opinion.
Funnilly enough, that's exactly what America is saying to justify a pre-emptive strike against Iraq...:rolleyes:Quote:

Well, if we look at a purely hypothetical situation :
Someone, innocently (relatively) does something repeatedly every so often.
That action in turn causes 5, 10 or 15 people to become involved and cause absolute mayhem.
Should that one person be allowed to continue to do that thing ?
Now I don't think jesus4u creates those posts innocently.
I think he knows it will cause huge disruption.
A disruption is inevitable becuase I believe people are so asleep spiritually they need something to spark their minds into gear. Thus I post what MOST (including you) avoid.Quote:

Perhaps most of us are deliberately avoiding it because it causes more harm than good?Quote:

Over the centuries, religion has caused more deaths than any disease.
i don't want to drawn into an argument, but what makes you think that because someone isn't a Christian, they're not spirtual? i'm spiritual, but am not religous.
I avoid it because I don't want spirituality.
Its as simple as that.
I don't want you to "spark" my mind.
I don't want anyone to teach me anything I have not requested.
Valid comment but someone can be sincere and be sincerely wrong at the same time.Quote:

of course, but that doesn't mean you should impose your sincerity on them, because you could equally be wrong.
