Goodbye Argentina...... come on ENGLAND!!!! :D :p ;)
Fair play wins for once :D
Woohoo . . . . Argentina... Your boys took a HELL ova beating....
Don´t cry for me Argentina...:D :D
Italy you are next, i hope...
Is mexico any good?
It looks like USA (remember us, we were in last place last year..
kinda like the french, only we were not defending champs. )
has a good chance to take 2nd in D group, which means Mexico
in the 2nd round... They are way on top of their G group, are they
that good, or did they get lucky with the rest of the G group?
or am I being WAY too optimistic about the US ever doing anything
good in a soccer game?
I would suggest the latter.
We're doing fairly well for a country where soccer is a little known and under-developed sport! We have a good goal keeper and quite a few players. I've really been enjoying watching the games! If we keep improving every year due to the kids who have been exposed to soccer on a more regular basis, the US could surprise you!
 I dont think so, we just had a very bad day, in 100 games against Portugal you win 1...bad luck it was in the WorldCup...Quote:

Lets go Portugal...Lets go Tugas...
we are gonna teach that small yellow guys with eyes in beak how to play... Make us pride...
You don't think that we are playing well or you don't think that we are improving every year? IMHO you are wrong on both counts!Quote:

Yeah, and the Curse of the Bambino is VooDoo, too.
Zuper, I'm not sure I'd continue to support the team that
plays good and then chokes when it really counts...
course I still go to cub games. :D
I'm betting that we make it to round two and then get trounced by Italy or Mexico.
I have no doubt that we will eventually get trounced. My point was that we are playing well and are improving every year! Good for us!
You do seem to have a pretty decent keeper. I've been mildly impressed so far :) Playing much better overall than you were too. Kind of surprising, really, but it probably shouldn't be ;)
I'm sure the US fans will never surpass the Europeans though!
At least I hope not! ;)
I think the US team has done well and deserve a place in the second round definately
SShhhh! Don't jinx us! We are playing well and if they keep it up with a little luck we'll get there!
[whisper] Sorry! [/whisper]

Now that you mention it...
We are a Spanish speaking country, but our main football clubs have names with English words in them: "Boca Juniors" - River Plate - Racing Club - Newell's Old Boys .
It's due to the fact that the football game was introduced by English inmigrants, in the middle of 19 century.
Phew, that was a mistake! ;)Quote:

US is doing reasonably well IMO. They can get to the second round but don't expect them to go a long way :)
That'll be for next world cup. If Arena's boys make it to the Quarters it'll be a huge boost for the sport in the US which in turn means that the pool of possible talents expands and that the US may be able to put a world class squad on the pitch within 8 years.
Not pessimistic, just realistic.
But in the meantime : Go US !
I am extremely worried about Football ever really taking off in the US. They could be very good indeed and I could foresee them dominating the game if it became too big.
It's all ready tough enough without any more good teams... :(
Someone fears the Danes :p
Don't worry, they'll be in time at Heathrow for the celebrations. Next week :D
GO USA GO, Oh God, please dont make us 1st...we dont want to play with Italy, so... Go USA, go...:D
YOU CAN NOW! MUWAHAHAHAHAQuote:
