Whats does this new job involve?
the job is working for a financial software house. they have basically been in the market for 30 odd years doing desktop brokering software and over the last couple of years they have also got into the net to do online mortgages and insurance. they have this site which brokers can pay to incorperate into there own. The web side of the company is what i was working on when I was there (as a contractor). using com dll's through asp. very interesting work. The problem is that he didn't offer the money I thought he was.
a bit about myself - I'm not actually a free lance contractor, I work for an umbrella company that contract's me out. so although people pay the proper rate for me (about £30 - £40 an hour) , my company takes quite a chunk out of that. So the money that this new company was offering was only a couple of grand more than what I am on at the moment and that would push me up into the high tax bracket and I wouldn't be much if any better off than I am now. And I've only got another 10 month's left on my contract with my umbrella company and then I can do what ever I want.
Decision's, decision's. I'ts definatley nice to be in this position, but I've still got to work out what I want to do

Good(ish) news about that meeting Ian. Whatever decision you make, nothings permanent - you can always fix your mistakes if you think enough about them - not that im saying you will.
