Not good! We are up to our eyeballs in debt.....but Tom's getting healthy and it's only money after all! The doctor's and emergency room bills are getting paid off and they are willing to work with us so in five years time they will be paid off....the hospital ($123K) wants their money immediately and are threatening to take away our home.....it's not a good situation right now but we can't come up with that money so we are exploring other options. It can get depressing at times but as I said my husband is more important and letting him die was never an option in my opinion!!! The hospital can just deal with it or not!

I don't think they can take away your home if you didn't secure a loan on it...if you did then maybe. Although if you've got a plan for paying it off, which you say you do, it should all be ok, right? And the hospital's just being a bully about it...
The hospital is just trying to bully us as you say! They would have to go to litigation to try to take away our home and as long as we show that we are making an honest effort to pay off the debt it isn't going to happen......but it would force us to have to get a lawyer ourselves to fight them and would end up placing us even more in debt! It really is ridiculous but they are greedy bastards!!

Don't let it affect you. We haven't got a lot, we're in debt, if we ever added up how much we owe, I'd have a heart attack. Just take it one day at a time. There's more important things in life than money.
