Hi Vicky!
Hey Katie
Is the usual slow Friday around here!
I'm pretty much here for the duration tonight Katie :)
Coooooooool!
I just got out of a meeting with da boss! I'm going to be going part-time starting in August and going to school the other time. Don't laugh at me but I'm going to become a music teacher. I've always wanted to. I just have to have a teaching credential which will take about two years and I'll be good to go! Then I can sit home like Tom and the kids for three months out of every year! We can actually have a vacation without having to worry about whether I have enough annual leave or not!
me too, Im babysitting
Yay! I have someone to play with!
:)
that's excellent news katie  Life is definately about doing the things you want to do :) I just haven't found them yet :D
As for the having three months off, my mum has been working for the local school for about 19 years now. she's been working as an assistant teacher for 6 year olds (the equivalant of your 3rd grade I think), helping out the main teacher. Because of htat all through mine and my brothers school life she had the holiday time the same us us :)
I'm really looking forward to it! I really don't like getting up by myself every June, July and August. At least Symphony is there to keep me company now!
It took me 43 years to figure out what I really wanted to do and it turns out it's what I wanted to do when I first left high school and I just got lost somewhere along the way.
That's lovely Katie, good luck :) You'll be a brilliant teacher :)
Thanks! Although I'm not looking forward to having exams etc. again!
Don't worry, they'll be worth it in the end!
I hope my brain still works after so many years of doing nothing but coding!:D
I doubt it ;)
Oh, and if you're ever a teacher *don't* think about being a classroom teacher and coming over here.......right now the government's micro-managing it to oblivion.
But a proper music teacher is a Good Thing :)
I can just see it now, Katie staying late, helping some young student master his instrument.
;);)
LOL
I don't go for the young 'uns. Maybe I ought to teach at the university level then! ;)
:D
