Anyway, as I said that its a lot to say and the links had some religious proves about women's righs in Islam.
Simply, we are are following our holly book - Quran. Everybody think women do is written and ordered in Holly Quran. Neither we can ignore our holly book and (I think) nor you ignore your holly book!

Abdul your links say nothing. They are discussing women's roles in Islam not women's roles in Afghanistan. There is a VERY BIG difference between what the doctrine says and what the culture does.

You say 'you' (You seem to be associating yourself and yoru ideals with every single muslim in existence) cannot ignore your holy book. Well I say they, in Afghanistan and to a leser extent in other places, are ignoring the meaning of the book and abusing it to achieve power by their own means. I say their actions are immoral and totally opposed to the ideals you say every muslim should hold. It's a farce, and it's not even funny.

Yes, I agree that Afghanistan has a little more strict rules on women like:
beating (punishment is not beating)
not giving them education
These are the only things that Afghanistan has more as the women rights - but everything else should be true (like hiding your face and hairs) .
Yes, Women should get permission from their husdand or guardian/parents to do something.
I am not going to talk about the westren women but...these women have their own boyfriends even after they marry. And you know the stories of what happenes sometime between boyfriends or their girlfriends:rolleyes:

What you're takling about is the doctrine, what's written down on the paper. That isn't what's actually happening, and it's what actually happens that matters. I'm not getting at Islam here, I'm responding to the attitude that everybody is against Islam and Islam desperately needs to fight for its freedom. The fact is the doctrine isn't followed like Islam says it should be, and Islamic cultures hide behind what the doctrine says, ignoring the fact that they don't actually do what it says.

Which standpoint is correct? Neither in my opinion. Both sides are as stubborn as each other, as up their own arses as each other, and instead of blaming everyone outside the middle east for the conflicts I think they ought to consider who's actually taking part in the violence.

This, however, I don't agree with. The US is not interpreting the Koran and telling the arab nations what it means. The US has oil interests, yes, but the morality of an entire culture, made up of many nations, is not the responsibility of the US, and if the arab nations have allowed themselves to be manipulated by the US in such a way that it corrupts their moral structure then they are as much at fault as the US is.Quote:

I never said that all muslims are brainwashing there children nabeels. But i have SEEN an entire documentary on the "Palestinian School for Suicide Bombers". Needless to say that changes peoples opinion. And just to let you know abdul, if the US wanted to wipe out every Islamic nation on this planet, they could do it in a matter of hours. easlily. And still have enough nukes left to take on China. The reason that the US CANNOT do that is because they are a democratic society in which freedom, and equality is a key element. I personally don't associate muslims and terrorists in the same category, I have muslim friends and they're perfectly normal people, but what you tend to find is that all muslims stick up for the Palestinians and hate Israel, and any kind of debate ends up talking about what muslims all over the world are doing, and what the Koran says, not what any individual Islamic culture is doing. There seems to be this whole 'got to stick together' mentality among a lot of muslims, that isn't always appropriate in my opinion.
I totally disagree that the Taliban is headed in the right direction. They are probably either headed for a starving and dying nation, or a revolution. What the Taliban do is not that similar to what the Koran says, they maintain power through fear and public displays of the wrath of the government. If that's what the Koran advises then it's a lot worse than I previously thought.
First of all Nabeels, us 15 year olds must NEVER admit that were too young to understand anything (even if we are):D .
On a serious note, i agree with Harry that Aphganistan is headed in anywhere but the right direction. There are religious police who will beat women if they see there hair of ankles. First of all the concept of women not being able to even go outside without a ridiculous costume (that would be associated with halloween in noth america) is totally unjust and is an atrocity in itself. Selcondly, having police that beat women for the alleged disobedience if this law without even giving them a chance to defend themselves only makes it worse. And on top of it all, they do it in the name of Islam! Now im sorry but I would be lying through my teeth if i said that that did not change my opinion towards Islam, regardless of what the Koran actually teaches.
One last thing...In many cases, Muslims are terrorists, because it is there only means of fighting back (i am in no means justifying there cause or moral justification, on the contrary) against organized governments with trained militaries who are forced to use them against them(muslims). Such is the case in Isreal and Palestine. I am simply stating this fact, i am not justifying the actions of anyone.

My opinion is that is the legal process. If someone were to kill my brother, I would expect you to stand trial like a man and take whatever punishment is handed down to you. I will not kill you myself, because I have respect for the presumption of innocence.
Palestinians stone Israelis and then complain when the IDF tries to protect its people. Arab nations continually re-affirm their position to run the Jews into the sea, and then wonder why no one cares about internal problems of religion and terrorism.
Arab nations don't care about Palestinians, they use them as a football to destroy the state of Israel and to run the Jews into the sea. In 1967 when thousands of Palestinians were homeless, who provided water, food, supplies, and other necesities? Saudi Arabia? Iran? Sudan? No. It was Israel.
That is the problem! There is no equal law in this world. UN (who is the the judge of all this world) is not protecting anybody. Is sharon been punished so far to killing those 500 Palestinians? UN, itsleft, punish the innocent countries and people.

It's frightening that people like him exist.
His belief that women should be "looked after" by men is laughable, especialy coming from a 15 year old. Whats frightening me is that my tax dollars are paying for his education (I am ashamed to see that he is a Canadian resident/citizen). I suppose the occasional screwball slips through the net.
I can't say that I agree with all the **** going on in Palestine/Isreal, but Harry has repeatedly made the excellent point that they are both as bad as each other, and Abdul staunchly refuses to recognise the fact. Anyone so convinced of the black and white nature of the world is either very dim witted or very brainwashed.
I don't agree with terrorism, but I understand why people do it. America and Britain are two very agressive nations who have made loads of mistakes and started loads of trouble, but killing innocent people (e.g. Embassy bombings/bombing planes etc.) cannot be justified in any extreme. Look at the people in Lockerbie and on the Pan-Am flight. What did they ever do to anyone. How did killing them further the cause of terrorists. All it did was piss people off. But, I also don't think America was right or justified in bombing Libya in retaliation (and in turn killing innocent people). It all shades of grey, and this arsehole can't see that, all he can see is the I'm right and you're wrong side of things. People like him should be f***ed and burned as far as I'm concerned.....

But it won't happen. I was visiting with a few of my Muslim friends at the weekend (round to see the baby), and they are all nice gentle people who totally disagree with violence. They would be shocked and upset to see this ****** use their religon as an excuse for violence (especially given that he comes from the same country as them). Abdul is no Muslim and no Canadian as far as I am concerned, and he should be ashamed to sully the name of both with his wretched putrid existance.
The best thing he could do for both his country and religon is to open his mind to the beauty of a multi-cultural world, where men and women live in peace. But alas, I don't think he posses the mental capacity to do this and will follow his indoctrination blindly. It is a sad thing to say of anyone, but the world is a worse off place for him having ever been born into it.

Palestine isn't part of the UN. There is no state called "Palestine" anymore. It is Israel, and Palestinians are trying to take Israel away from us.

Sharon didn't murder anyone. When you pick up rocks and beat Israelis to death, there are going to be consequences. So far, the only consequence is rubber bullets. Thank your lucky stars that Sharon doesn't decide to end the violence and occupy the West Bank, because stone-throwing, suicide-bombing fools will not stand a chance.

Seeing as how thousands of Jews were left homeless, without belongings, money, many of whom didn't even have clothes, or any hope of rebuilding their lives, no one was in the mood to object to rebuilding our homeland.

I know you're talking about the women in Islam, but the pure and simple fact is that most women in Islamic cultures are treated as an underclass, and inferior. There is no point telling everybody what it says in the Koran when very few people in these Islamic cultures take any notice of what it says. It doesn't matter what's in the Koran, what matters is that Islamic cultures give less rights to women, because that's the reality of the situation. Exactly. Religion thrives in freedom, not when it is forced upon people. Abdul you say that women should have to follow the rules in your holy book. Well i wont bother disputing whats in that book. But i will ask you whether those women have a chance to change their faith if they do not agree with what is in that book. Are they allowed to become christian, for instance? Of course not, because then there wouldnt be any muslim women in countries like aphganistan. The taliban dont give a s*** about the koran!! Thats what you dont understand. I am NOt christian, but i live in Canada. I am canadian. The term canadian does not imply a religion. I could be agnostic and still be Canadian. They are separate things, as they should be. Women can wear what they want and do what they want not because of the bible, or any holy book, but because Canada is FREE. Free of any religious goverment. Proof that this sytem works best, is well blatent. Canada is among the best nations to live in (3rd i beleive according to the UN).Quote:
