Good. :D I am glad someone understood :D
That Behemoth's a real idiot - I don't tend to reply to his posts.
:)
Thank you Jamagei, I was feeling stuck. I didn't know how to explain myself better. I didn't want to be misjudged or something worse.
I'm glad some one got it clear. :)
I don't reply to myself because that would just be silly and we can't have that!!!!!!
I occasionally reply to myself if I'm feeling crazy :)
Loads of people reply to themselves (e.g. "Just bringing this back to the top"). At least I do, and to maybe to correct myself.
Or, as parksie says, if i'm feeling crazy:cool:
so do I
no you don'tQuote:

Hey in a few years Parksie will even know it's better with two....and far better with three.
Something tells me that Parksie already has that concept down....in theory if not in practice! ;)
Hmmm :) Sounds like fun...maybe a little later when I'm all grown up :p
Yea I do too.Quote:

I have met people from Germany (i do not like Germans as a whole) but the person was a really nice bloke. Again with the French. I don't think that all Palastinians believe that terrorism is the right way. But we don't hear about them. So i think Goodreams is putting that one person into the stereotype that the media have created. Which is kinda wrong but understandable. He is human after all (you are human aren't you?:D) and humans are governed by emotion.
any of that make any sense to anyone?
With the part about not all Palastinians believe that terrorism is the right way, yes it is true, some belive it is, but where are you defining the difference between terrorism and the ongoing conflicts? now how many Palastines belive that terrorism is the correct way? how many Palastines think fighting is the best way? there is a difference that you have to understand here.
I think the reason Goodreams felt a bit awkward about it was because the guy had the flag displaying to the world, not just because he was Palestinian. I mean, if there's a lot of conflict between two groups of people and someone was actively proclaiming their membership of one of the groups, then it's not a huge assumption to make that they have some issues about the conflict. I'm not saying that you can just surmise a whole load about the person from that, but it's not just a question of being judemental with nothing to go on apart from the nationality.
I don't think it's really enough to make any conclusions about someone, but I'm just trying to explain what I can understand Goodreams' apprehensiveness could be rooted in. Seemed like people were assuming it was just a nationality thing.
I do have some prejudices by the way, basically all down to personal experience with the groups of people involved. I don't go shouting about them though. I try not to take any notice of them.
Harry has spoken :)
Harry what a well thought out statement. You need to get some more coke into you to avoid this sort of thing in the future. We all know that Goodream's is a spokesman for the Peoples Liberation Front of Judea. So stop making excuses for him. Nice avatar by the way, looks like Dr Who after a night down the boozer:)Quote:

I don't know what's that (perhaps I should). What I said was simply based on personal experience like I said two pages ago.Quote:

It was a joke, Goodreams.

I knew that
Looks like I lied before when I said I never reply to anything by jesus4u
I just did.
He's still a jerk though!

Why did you bother to reply if it was going to annoy you so much? This forum is here to help people. By definition, alot of them will be learners. What purpose does insulting somebody who doesn't know as much as you serve? Why would someone post a question if they see a response like that?Quote:

What has Jesus4U said to you that makes you hate him so vehemontly?

Whoa Mark...I think you need to calm down a little there
Who is this Jesus4U bloke/blokette, why's he such a jerk. I've never actually seen any of his posts.Quote:

I don't think he's a jerk...just someone with occasional DB difficulties
He's always been polite to me. I always try and answer his questions if I can.
SD
I think a few get upset with Jesus4U is that when he posts and people give responses, he doesn't always give a "Thank You". Dont get me wrong, he doesn't always do it, but alot of people get offended by this. Also, I guess that he doesn't take the time to help others out, I personally have never seen him help out with other posts. I dont have anything against the guy, I just recall some posts that I have answered and never received a response...
I suppose some ppl might get upset about his plugging his favourite religion etc. I dunno.:rolleyes:
PS what does everyone think of my new sig?
OK, I'm calm! (where's the gritted teeth smilie? ;) )
Vodka helps..
I've got nothing against people whose heads spin round. Honest!
I know the dude is probably just starting out with programming and there are probably others who are guilty of the same things but that's no excuse especially that he has a post count of over 600
The VB help files would solve 96.2% of his questions and I tend to think it is just lazyness.
He never seems to take note anyone's advice and makes the same mistakes over and over again
http://forums.vb-world.net/showthrea...threadid=62191
and like Lethal says thanks are a bit thin on the ground

http://forums.vb-world.net/showthrea...threadid=56046

the list goes on...
The only think I have against him is his username. If I want a lecture on christianity I'll ask for it.
Other than that he hasn't bothered me. Perfectly reasonable chap I expect.
Clearly a Christian which is bad enough. Not prejudging him even though l have never seen one of his posts:rolleyes:Quote:

When l use to hitch rides around, (back in poor student days), it was noticable however that cars with that christian fish sticker would never stop. I guess you have to be a samaritan or something.
didn't I see someone with an australian flag avatar recently:confused:Quote:

I think Maude Flanders from the Simpsons is a prime example of how some christians pretend to be generous/forgiving but actually aren't. Note I said some, not all.
Heh, this post still going on? Why I haven't seen this? Oh well, I'm blind
I don't reply usually if question is too easy, explanation is bad, use of language is bad or if I don't like the avatar. Yep..It is so big thing :D
Jesus4U...I replied him once or twice. He looks like a guy who never figures out anything by himself. Anyways, I can't remember much more about him, just that he has a stupid avatar ;) (and nickname)
Kzin, you're quoting me out of context. Read the whole thing.
Not many people do...Quote:

I hate it when ppl who obviously know their stuff when it comes to VB, only post questions themselves, when they are really stuck, and never help other ppl out themselves. Those guys who use this forum as a last resort really p*ss me off.
It's OK if they don't know anything, and are just beginning, but even then, some ppl ask really easy questions on these forums that even a determined three-year-old could give the correct answer to, just by looking at tips/articles and stuff.
Just my £0.02.:D
;) I know what you mean Harry - point taken - but my point was that almost every country has some group or subgroup who has cogent reasons to object to them or their flag. If we start censoring (or even thinking of censoring) some then it gets difficult.Quote:

Australia was a suitable example as it must be one of the least offensive possible but presumably there are Indonesians who would think they are 'interfering' in East Timor and Aborigines who wish that Europeans had never settled and wouldn't want to see what is to us an excellent avatar.
