To be honest I have no idea. I don't know anything about C++, I just wanted to take a look at the control.Quote:

Has anyone had any problems installing VS2005 and VS2008 on the same OS?
nope. I have VB6, VS 2003, VS 2005, and VS 2008 all on the same XP machine.
I had 2005 and 2008 on Vista without any problems.
Same here.Quote:

with regards to what? I can only assume WPF since WinForms has had those controls for a long time. I don't think so. I have not seen a WPF date picker control in SP1.
Yeah sorry, I was thinking WPF, but I didn't write it.....glad you're a mind reader!
you can host WinForm controls in WPF windows though, so that is the best work around for now.

I'm downloading the VS.2008 SP1 iso file
what this file contain?
because I am using VS.2008 pro on my computer, and I want to install sp1
thanks
well with an ISO you will either need to burn it to disc, or mount it on a virtual drive via software.
But if its the VS 2008 SP1 iso file, then I would think it is safe to say it contains SP1 for VS 2008. There aren't different SP1 versions for different VS2008 versions.
thanks
But I want to know the ISO file contain VS. 2008 sp1 or sp1 for VS.2008
because I am using dial up connection and the ISO file size is 800mb !!!
very big for me.
thanks again
I dunno man, I can tell you that this link definitely IS the correct one, I can't say about the one you downloaded. It sounds like it is, but it may be overkill (like it may .NET 3.5 SP1 updates for all CPU flavors (x86, x64, IA64) when you only need one of those.)
This link is the download for the installer that should look at your installation, and ONLY download what is needed

Maybe you need to post more than one or two words so WE can understand YOU.Quote:

Tried install again but same error again. I have all the latest updates for Vista. No Firefox. Hardly any programs installed on computer now. I'll go do a search on this code. If anyone knows anything about this you can let me know.
I just tried it again and it installed ok. The only thing I did differently this time is that I was still connected to the internet. I wouldn't think that that would have made any difference.
That depends on what you actually downloaded. If you downloaded the bootstrapper then you need to be connected to the Internet so that it can download the actual service pack. How big was the file you downloaded? The full SP is hundreds of megabytes. The bootstrapper is less than 3. It's easy to tell which is which.Quote:

The package contains the service pack for VS2008, but also contains SP1 for the actual .NET framework 3.5.
Chances are the download you did contains ALL versions of 3.5SP1 (x86, x64, IA64) so the size gets much larger.
VS2008 SP1/.NET 3.5SP1 is being delivered via Microsoft's Automatic Updates, which is probably the quickest and easiest way to get just what you need.
Done installing that. It ate my free space too like a monster...
Clean your drive up and archive to CD/DVD or even get a bigger drive. :)
