Thank you for pointing that out. I've added the new ones but wouldn't otherwise have know about it since no subscription notification is sent when someone edits a post.Quote:

Sorry I was a bit over the top, it just seemed a bit guilty until proven innocent, if you know what I mean. Your photos are excellent by the way.
Umm.. Id like to enter some pictures. They arent the best, by a long shot, and the cameras they were taken on arent great either, but oh well..
Snowy Munros
I thought id take a picture of what i was about to climb, for this one, as it looked quite a feat.
Ben Nevis
I liked the proportions of the person above the snow and the amount of snow at the cliff
Wicked Wind
How the wind had shaped the snow at the top of Ben Wyvis, and also the snow thrown up in the air by a gust of wind
Dreary Day
My most recent Munro, had only just stopped raining for the first time in a good 4 hours when i took this
Flower Of Scotland
Again, from my most recent Munro, i liked the colours of the thistle.
The pictures were all taken by me between 2005 and present day. I climb Munros as a hobby, so i always get a good opportunity to take some pictures.

Some great scenary there!
The mountains in Scotland are fantastic. If you get the weather, it would be hard to find some nicer scenery!

Do they mind if you drive your jeep up there? Seems like a lot of walking to me.
lol. Thats part of the fun. You been looking at my photobucket account :p I own the car, the landrover is my dads :)

Just wondering cause I was up in duck when that came thru (we didnt get anything from it .. suuny and hot..lol) the 2 shots i just posted. 1 was in duck (the moon) the other was in Kittyhawk under the pier behind the Hilton.
It was August of 2005. We were actually at Salvo, but who know's Salvo. It was just a late afternoon storm.
I love the Outer Banks!
What did I just do? I created a yahoo account so I could have a free flickr page. Did you ever notice that sometimes people change their minds.Quote:

I'm displaying some of the computer art that I created as well as photos. All the computer art you see on my flickr account I used Windows Paint to create.
Back when I said what was in the quote I didn't know about the Click Here link in post #1 to view the entries. If I did I wouldn't have been complaining like that.
why would you take this picture while they are looking?

That's what makes it interesting. The reaction on their faces I think is sort of interesting. Another answer I could give to your question is, why not.
The quality of these entries is a lot higher than last time.
I'm going to be fashionably late and enter some this weekend.
A week ago today I was saying that we'll be up to 100 photos in no time and since then there haven't been too many entries. It looks like we'll be waiting for the 11th before the contest closes. 3 more days or 17 more photos will "close" the contest. Looks like 3 more days is more likely.
Penagate - Love the rock archway. Excellent choice to go b&w. did you use and color filtering on it to enhance the shadows or was it a straight b&w shot?
Taken in colour and converted to b&w using the Channel Mixer in Photoshop.
cool :)
can you show me the original? i'd love to see the real colors of the rock... oh and u spelled color wrong again.
;) lol
What photo's are suppose to post here? Can I upload a photo of myself? Hehe.. Joke!
very cool Penagate. good choice to go b&w. the details seem to pop right out in b&w and not so much in color. :thumb:
Thanks. Black and white conversions are great for emphasising shapes and textures.
Vote now. See post #1.
Picking three was tougher this time.
Because it was hard to find three good enough photos, or because it was hard to condense down to three choices? :D
Its easy; i clicked on the ones that stood out from the rest. I am annoyed that I missed the submission deadline again. :mad:Quote:

People prefer to be fashionably late as always. :D
I was planning on voting tonight.
I was planning on voting twice.
That includes a large category of VBForums members so you can vote even though you may not have entered any photos into the contest. This thread was started July 28, 2008, so if you were a VBForums member before that you can vote.Quote:

Have you gotten more votes yet, ML?
Yes, but it's still very disappointing at 17 voters. Any ideas on how I could get more people to vote?
Maybe you could make the first post much simpler, like:
Pictures here
How to vote
1: Merri #1
2: Merri #2
3: Merri #3
First will get 10 points, second gets 5 points and third gets 3 points.
Send PM
You could also advertise it in your signature.
Very funny.Quote:

Less than 24 hours to get your vote in. If you haven't voted vote or else the Boogey Man is going to get you.
I was kidnapped in a white van and beaten to death until I voted for someone. It didn't matter who, I had to vote.
Don't let this happen to you. Vote.
You will get the fate of Turin Turambar if you don't vote.
(Quick synopsis: your father is captured by very evil being and cursed. He will live long and see all the pain caused by the curse. You leave your home. Your younger sister is born (you never meet her). You grow up in the service of a king and become a great warrior. You end up escaping and leading a bunch of outlaws. The outlaws are destroyed. You serve another king. The kingdom is destroyed. You escape to a forest and become a leader. You find a naked woman. You marry the woman. She becomes pregnant. You kill a dragon, the dragon tells you your wife is your sister and you kill yourself. Your sister kills herself. Your father is set free and his actions lead to a destruction of a kingdom.)
Note kregg was beaten to death. He rose from the grave in order to get the message out.Quote:

The Winning Photos Are:
zaza #1 - 45 points
Penagate #2 - 44 points
grilkip #5 - 40 points
Last time we also had a Best Photographer Category so I'm doing that again. To determine the winners in this category I took the total points given to a photographer and divided by the number of photos submitted.
Best Photographer:
Penagate - 20 points per photo
grilkip - 13 points per photo
zaza - 11.2 points per photo
Please join me in congratulating the 3 winners, but I'd like to congratulate you all for submitting a great bunch of photos (and shutting me out)!
Congrats All!
How many votes did I get pleeeeeeeeeease?
I thought about posting the spreadsheet I used to calculate the winners, but I decided against it because I didn't want anyone to be embarrassed. However I will send you your results via PM and I will do the same for anyone else who PMs me with that request.Quote:
