Open up notepad, and save it somewhere.
Type sdlkfjsadlfk, and copy it. Then start pasting it, paste it several times. Just press Ctrl+V, and hold it for a couple seconds.
Now, Click File>Save, and watch the cursor carefully.
Well?
(crosses fingers)
Arrgggghhhh... Its definitely true! :D
Re: The Notepad Save oddity [It's a bug!!]
I would be looking at the touchpad as the cause. I had a laptop with this and it was a pain in the a** for causing strange things to happen. I started using a little portable wireless mouse and that solved the problem.

I didn't try it with a laptop.
Re: The Notepad Save oddity [It's a bug!!]
I didn't mention, I use a desktop. I've always found Notepad quite reliable. It used to not handle large text files very well, and would suggest using Wordpad instead. The current variant doesn't do that. I admit, it doesn't do much. It doesn't need to.

I'm simple, I use TextPad instead of Notepad, it does what I need it to.

w00t?
I got a weird result from this. It came back up as control characters of some type (little squares). I looked at it with a hex editor, and it seems to be text. No extra characters on either end.
Strange!
