This was recently posted right before I lost my account (Registered April 99, ~275 posts) I would of found an older one but search seems to be broken at the moment.

I lost my account.. I just re-registered my name. I think I had around 300 posts.

I didn't read through all these replies, but I thought I needed to chip in a bit as well :p, and give some "good" feedback for a change. :)

I registered on 11 / 14 / 2000, and gone wild posting left and right, I was addictive. :p. But then I stopped posting, due to some reasons I can't all explain right here now.

For more than I year I haven't logged into these forums, until recently. Before I logged in, I thought my account was going to be suspended or removed, so I went directly to the register page. To my amazement, I got a reply sort of like "This account is already in use. Please choose a different nickname."

Fortunately I was able to remember my password after a few tries of unsuccessful logins.

Thank you John for keeping those old unused accounts for so long, and not removing them! :) :) :)

And now... flames can be directed to dev@null.

I am reindexing the search engine, but what are the PM problems?

Well if you read a Private Message, the screen is, well, ****ed up to put it lightly.
Enclosed is a screengrab.

So it also means that one cannot reply to a message.

Another problem is with the topic auto-notification emails.
The emails come through with a blank subject, or (none) in the case of my e-mail service.

But the search engine isnt 100%...

Oh yes, and its also possible, or at least was until a week ago or so, to post in the ".NET" pseudo-forum.
I don't know what you call it, but anyway, those forums that contain the others, "Visual Basic", "General", ".NET" etc.

If you manually get the forumid of that forum, and then put that into the address bar for creating a new thread you can post in there.

Matthew Gates had 7200+ posts, could not find any posts by him... :(

Only my post count.

My old name was Slaine (same as my new one)

Ok, so what is the procedure I should go through to get my account restored? I'd like to get as close to what I had before as possible.

I already made an earlier post estimating my postcount. Because some people were posting threads they've posted to with their missing accounts, I was going to do the same, but I can't seem to be able to find any....
