The idea of making program develope its own strategies can only be done by allowing the strategies to be developed. Giving the program a rather complex state doesn't boost its capabilities, it boosts its uses, often including faulty uses. The artificial intelligence itself can never be improved, its a turingmachine.
But, for those who don't know, it always looks impressive, there's just no magic involved..
I think functional/logical languages like prolog or haskell is rather suited for what you are doing.

Chuck, I've been trying to figure out if there is a 'perfect' knowledge array for TTT wrt the AIP. Is there one?
I wanted to start with a 'perfect' AIP and have it teach another until they lock onto the tied game, then take the 2nd generation AIP and teach the 3rd generation until tie occurs etc.
Will they all get to the smae tied game?
