Gimlin, you are the spawn of Macromedia
What's wrong with using DHTML to create the menus? Most web pages use it, and for a reason: it's faster than Flash. I doubt there's anything wrong with it, either.
Imagine a knitted glove filled with dog excrement.
Imagine sitting on that glove wearing your best trousers.
Imagine the mess squeezing out through the weave of the glove and ruining your lovely expensive clothes.
Now double that feeling.
That is a close approximation to the experience of trying to build a web page using Adobe GoLive. It brings a tear to the eye.
LMFAO! :DQuote:

I had GoLive on my machine for about 2 hours before I started crying and tearing my hair out. Then I did the right thing: I uninstalled it and threw the CD into the dustbin.
Flash might take longer but it looks much better. I just dont like DHTML, it has it uses but, its like trying to make a static page have flare. Why not just use the flare right off the bat. Keep the static content and flare appart.
Fireworks is a nice tool to make nav menus fast. Dreamweaver blows Frontpage out of the water. InterDev is pretty cool too. I just started messing with the vs.net web tools and they are the sheit. Is anyone using the latest flavor or Dev tools from Macromedia yet?
Flash MX is nice...haven't really tried the other MX stuff though.Quote:

Yeah, Flash is the stuff. And SWFs are very small anyhow...Quote:

I haven't used DHTML a whole lot, but if the frontpage xp dhtml features are any indication, it should have never been created

How dare u accuse Mr C of being macho!!! I have known him for a while now and can safely vouch for his questionable sexuality :)Quote:

Why not create the page initially with a web editor and then tweak it in notepad?
I used to do what u said.. ie make a page in frontpage and then tweak with notepad but now find that it is much easier to make a page direct in notepad. The way I see it is that u spend much more time stripping all of the unnecessary crap out of a page made with Frontpage. I cant speak for other editors but I now dont see any need to spend money on web site creation programs unless I was going to do something quite complex. (And as if that will ever happen :p )
Are those links in the pic below the right size for a webpage to be viewed by everybody?

The links are size twelve atm, the reason they appear bigger is because I copied them into word.
There A little big, best to go with 10 - 12 pt fontQuote:
