If it's gone to the point where we are insulting each others countries' sports, it's gone too far.
It's only a game..and the players in both "Gridiron" and rugby could take us out anyday ;)

Isn't it on right now ? They're about to start prancing about err ... the game (sorry), aren't they ? :D
Yeah they are but I don't really care who wins either way so I'm just not gonna watch
Lets see goudabuddha, on the one hand you're proclaiming gridiron as a challenging game, yet you think rugby players are dumb for not wearing extra body armour, and stupid 'cause we don't need 10 minutes to plan every movement of the ball....?
Pffft... typical ignorant hypocrisy. Gridiron is a ***** game, with far less spontaneous thinking involved than rugby, let alone any other version of football, and none of your arguments make any sense at all, let alone follow the same train of 'thought'...
'k I think this is gettin' a bit silly
It's not the living American's fault they have this game, but there is a good reason why US-inspired games are more of less only followed by US citizens and nobody else.
ok whatever, think what you want and ill think what i want
Actuallty speaking of silly sports.
AFL have annouced an International series, including a NZ team:confused: Sorry folks but they don't actually play the sport in NZ:confused:
'Cause everyone else has better versions. :pQuote:

Gridiron ----> Rugby
Baseball ----> Cricket
I've watched both of those games, baseball at Olympic level, and god they are boooorrrriinng....
it's a ****ing joke have them in the olymics, can anyone say "Guaranteed US gold medal"????????????Quote:

I think Morris Dancing and Scone eating whould become olympic sports
Not only do we not play it Jethro most kiwis think its an amuseing joke. You know kinda like those carnival freaks
Step right up and see those crazy aussies play AFL where they threw the rule book out the window while playing rugby on a cricket pitch one day.
Honestly i reckon that game started over an arguement at the MCG one day between The Australian Rugby Union and the Cricket chappies. The all started this punch up and some amused Kiwi tossed in a rugby ball. They all liked it so much it became the national sport :D
Can we have ONE thread related to something American that does NOT turn into an anti-American debate?
Thread crappers attack again...
Aha Chris, speaking of OZ not beating England in other sports, what about the Club League final........er what doya mean....................Bradford won ok moving along to the cricket:eek:Quote:

I'll keep that in mind next time one of your rugby or cricket threads show up...Quote:

But your opinion doesn't count, since (I assume) you don't play sport. :p
And anyway, we're abusing gridiron as a sport, it only appears as seppo-bashing 'cause no-one else plays it... :D
and Chris, I'm not positive, but I don't think the US won Gold at Sydney, and it's certainly not guaranteed - Japan and Cuba have won a few - they are big players at Olympic level.
But my god, I've never watched anything so slow and boring in my life... you'd think at Olympic level they'd make it interesting...but nooooooo.
It's the basketball where the US always gets gold - we only have that to see who gets Silver and Bronze - Australia, Lithuania are up there in that one. :p No-one cares much about the gold in basketball, we just watch it for the runners-ups, since the US send over a ****ty team and still flog everyone. :p
How can you assume something such as that?Quote:

It's still thread crapping. If this were a thread about Visual Basic, and I proceeded to discuss how C++ was better, it would be thread crapping.
Just like on [H]ardOCP-- whenever someone asks about buying an Intel system, rest assured there will be 5 people saying "AMD rules!". (I usually refrain from thread crapping even if I agree with the crappers...)
Nuff said.
Do you play any sport?
maybe teh person is thinking of buying the new supercool Intel Septium 1Thz with 1Gb of fullspeed ondie cache?! Could be.Quote:

Actually, not really that much :pQuote:

Although I'm doing track and cross-country running, which is definitely a sport and requires lots of endurance/practice, etc...even if it doesn't involve a ball or a stick...
Occasionally I play a little basketball (1 on 1) for fun...
That's about it though, I am not even really a football fan (I only keep the Super Bowl on for the commercials) but that doesn't really justify thread crapping.
Regardless of whether this thread is about American or Australian sports or anything else, it's not very nice.
;)
I think if Intel put out one of those for a cheap price I would be converted! :DQuote:

I could just run software rendering on all my games and get 100,000 in 3dmark :p
PSSSST dont forget New Zealand
Cripes we have owned rugby for like 60 odd years
Aussie wins for 2 or three and suddenly its there game
OOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHH the unfairness of it all
This is funny...
Hey stop the thread crapping...this one is about US Football remember;)Quote:

At least the ABs now have a mongrel for a coach, tremble in fear before a fully functioning All Black team:D

That last try in the England match yesterday was soo good :D
jpb - long distance running counts as sport in my books. Me girlfriend'd never forgive me if I said it wasn't, although I do anyway just to stir...:p
rudders - shut the hell up you big kiwi poonce! Aussies are the best rugbyers in the world...:p
Nah, you're right, but we are (were) on a bit of a winning streak - no one else has ever held all the tropihes at once, have they?
Thank god we finally beat the bloody Lions! Mind you, when it's 4 countries vs 1, it's no surprise it took so long!
jpb - it's not thread crapping, it's called starting an argument, now either be involved or don't, but stop your complaining! :p
I'm just still surprised no seppos have mentioned the last time Rugby 7s were played in the Olympics.....
Rugby is an English place that's all it is, and all it will ever be!Quote:

And you can't mention the Lions, cause that's cheating!
ChrisJK you are correct sir the English did invent the game just like cricket. But as per usual its US Kiwis and AUssies that have to show you all how to play it proper like. And generally give you poms a bloody good thrashing while we are at it.
Look out RJ its super 12 season again this Year the ole Kiwi Teams are gonna be back in the finals!!!

Memo to the Wellington Bunker: Sometimes it's really good if you play the game with all fifteen players on the field for more than one match a session.
Bah, I'm tryin to watch the Super Bowl and my mom keeps making stupid remarks that are driving me up the wall...grr...
That's the spirit goudamomma!
