I think that's exactly what you're saying. That people should, or already do, violate the law when it conflicts with their values, or think it is unreasonable.
People should obey the law even when it is impossible to enforce.
I'm not asking you to cite changes, I'm asking the other guy to, since he obviously disagrees with copyright law.
The law doesn't necessarily deal with "right" and "wrong" in all cases. The law, in this case, is to protect the prosperity, appreciation, and further development of intellectual property. It doesn't have to be "right" in order to be considered enforceable.
