Anyone who drinks beer for "taste and image" should not drink at all..
I may be one of the dinosaurs when i say this.. but i drink to get drunk..

Rolling Rock is not bad either.
i think beer is at it's best when it is nearly frozen but still at that drinking stage :)
but when all esle fails... i will have my jack and coke ..
or some southern comfort or scotch.. :) :) :) :)
Once again ! Belgian Beer is by far and by large the best beer a man (or woman) can get.
Try a Hoegaarden, a Palm or even a Stella Artois or Jupiler and then you'll know what good beer tastes like. :p :p
Of course, the percentage of alcohol is higher than most of the other beers but hey, good taste comes with a prize :) :)
And before you start. Yes, I've tried Labatts, Budweiser, some Spanish beer, most of the Dutch errr ... (can't really call it beer. It looks like piss and tastes like it too), Carlsberg, Bitburger and still I say : give me a Belgian beer any day of the week.
We may not be any good at all the rest but we know how to brew a beer :) :) :)

Simon - I'm in complete agreement with you mate, There are some lovely ales down your way :), If your in my neck of the woods tryy out some (For the uncouthed these are real name's) Spitfire, Speckled hen or Bishop's Finger. Made by a brewery called sheppards's neame and goes down a treat :D
I'll repeat againg what simon said as I tisn't sinking in, what us brit's class as beer is either "Bitter" or ales, want the rest of the world class beer as is what we and the rest of europe call Larger ans we do server them cold :)

I cant even fathom drinking a warm beer up here in Oz you just cant do it. Room temperature is 30degrees + usually(thats not in summer) so you may as well just friggin well boil it and serve it with a friggin piece of fruit pudding!
I spose in England with the weather bieng pretty crappy all the time the story is different and warm beer is excepted.

I'm lucky there a 3 breweries with 15 mins drive of where i live. Not major ones just medium sized. Plus every 2nd house brews there own anyways.

Yes, you're right, British do not have any good beer to offer, thats when you pretend to be European and attempt to take credit for some of the best stuff - eg. Duvel... hats off to the Belgians!

Yes, it probably is a lot to do with climate. On a cold winter night in England, going down to your local pub and sitting round the fire eating steak and kidney pie and a nice pint of Ale by your side, the last thing you want to do is chill it.Quote:

Yeah, I've tried all of these and they are very nice. They serve Spitfire in a pub round the corner and you can get Speckled hen all over the place. I've only ever seen Bishop's Finger in bottles though.Quote:

In Cornwall, I would recommend 'Cornnish Knocker', 'Betty Stoggs' and 'Kiddley Wink' by Skinner's Brewrey and 'Doom Bar' by Sharp's brewrey.
Got a promotional Spitfire t-shirt and on the backer it got "No Fokker comes close" :D
Nah matie we've got thousands of beers probably 10's of thousands of brands!
Common beers Redback, Crown lager, VB, EB, Cartlon Cold, Cascade, Coopers list goes on and on.
Fosters is a un-common beer in Australia.
As we say if you want a fosters go overseas!
And if you want a pub crawl you have to go to kalgoorlie in WA. Why becuase the main street at last count had 12 or 15 pubs in less than a 1km stretch.
