1 week till boarding
Oh I dare, I dare. It certainly isn't the way the ski area or skiiers want, but what I described is warm air over cold air, which means an inversion. I doubt there is anybody anywhere who enjoys inversions. Out here, it means that we have beek locked in a thick fog for days, and will remain in the fog for another week. At times, it is so thick that it is hard to drive in it because visibility is down to about 30 feet.
At the moment, the fog is light enough that I can see the house on the other side of the street, which wasn't the case a couple days back. Still, the sun isn't going to be out for perhaps the whole of next week, and we have been under a health advisory for days due to the bad air trapped in the valley. A couple years back it got bad enough that the radio stations were telling people not to exercise period, and not to go outside if you could avoid it.
Of course, since we're American, most people complied with the admonition against exercising. In fact, they were fairly proactive on that front.
